Am having my 1st visit with a pain doctor in 2 days. What exactly is an Anesthesiology doctor? I sure hope he can help since lately even getting out of bed is like bargaining with the devil.

Anesthesiologists are highly trained pain specialists, and are also the ones who put you under during surgery. I've had great success with them. hope you do too :)

Yet another diagnosis.so far I've had bone spurs, arthritis, nerve damage, muscles( due to weight ) and most recently something about hip joint. My frustration builds. Pain Dr wants to do some kind of injection this month. Not sure if I want to since between all the doctors they can't even decide what it is. I'm exhausted, frustrated and angry. My body feels like the devil I have to bargain with on a daily basis. I think I just have to resign to the fact that this will now be my life .......with no relief. Sadly I have taken to self medicating........

today I was referred to a pain management Dr., a he's also an anesthesiologist. my knee OA has progressed that any activity I swell, pain is beyond my norco. I'm sure he'll help, but what do they prescribe to someone who's been on norco 10/325 for 6 months? and yes, a TKR is in my future several months away. I just want to feel better and have my busy life back, busy as I can ya know. this OA in the knee is the Pitts:-( I was injured early in March which broke my patella, tore some meninscus and I've had arthroscopic surgery for that. hoping for good pain relief as even sleep is hard, this knee wakes me up starting around 3am on. anyone know what he might prescribe? I'm trying to be as knowledgable as I can about my OA & my treatments. thanks
