Just found this app and wanted to try it out. I am 56 years old and have lived with Chronic pain as far back as I can remember. The Rheumatologist who diagnosed my Fibromyalgia believes I have been dealing with it since I was about 12 and diagnosed with "growing pains". By my calculations I should be over 15 feet tall by now instead of 5'4".
Anyways - I just wanted to stop in and say howdy. Looking forward to meeting you but it's late and my beds calling me. Lol. Of course it calls but the Sandman always delivers the defective sand to my house.
Mimikay, welcome aboard!!! I hope you find it a good place to be.. We're all a bunch of fun loving, zany people who just happen to hurt badly. I'm 51, I am also 5'4" and have been this way for 23 years and have too many things wrong with me to list... You'll find much support here. As for me, I live in my own little world but it's ok, they all know me here.. LOL!!! I think I went of the rails somewhere along the line and never found my way back but hey, if I'm a nut, so be it, I'm a hell of a lot of fun!!! 💕
Welcome to both of you Mimikay & JessicaAnne! I'll be 55 in 6 weeks, am shrinking (5'4" to 5'2"), and like AlwayZ there are too many dx to list, but fibro is one of them. I just had my 3rd cervical fusion surgery in August (after we knew I'd shrunk...lol). My fibro started in 2007 but I'm convinced I've had sjogrens for 12-15 years. I had no idea kids & teens could have these issues, or so many people existed with chronic pain, until I joined this group. I now worry that my daughters may end up with the same issues I have, especially my youngest who (like you) had severe pain at 12 and was dx as growing pain. I can only hope someone will have connected all the dots by then too provide better help or reverse the diseases. Hugs love & prayers as you find support and coping skills to get through your days! 🙂💕🙏🌸
FlappysLady81 My daughter was 14 when her Pediatrician said she had it but chose not to put it in her records so it wouldn't follow her into her adulthood. My mom has it (and Sjogrens and rheumatoid arthritis) but it isn't heridatary they (whoever they are) say.
My daughter will turn 30 in a few weeks. She tries to stay active and so far is doing great.
Mimikay, I do have that keychain!! It's hanging on my keys.. I saw it and it cracked me up... I'm sure that I have several other quotes that are funny. When my brain decides to rejoin the rest of me, I'll be much better💕
