New symptom new concern

Mar 24, 2015 9:19 AM

Long post but please read if you have time
So in past post I've mentioned my diagnoses thus far but jut a refresher; I have undifferentiated mixed connective tissue disease, chronic pain due to trauma along with PTSD from trauma and other situation, and fibromyalgia.

Recently I quit birth control because I felt off and depressed on it and shortly after started having discharge from my nipples. It's slowly changed colors and the lump I found close to my nipple about 6 months ago may have grown. Yesterday I had blood from urethra and I'm concerned that this is either due to my rheumatologist disorder that may be getting worse or tht I have a new problem to address. I'm only 24 and it's been a tough ride. I have a great support system but I feel like I only share more health concerns and sound like a hypochondriac. I know these are valid problems that need to be addressed but with a new boyfriend it's hard to feel I'm not overwhelming him.

Suggestions?

Could you agree with your boyfriend/family that when you see or speak to them you (and they!!!) Can spend a short time, maybe half hr for instance, where you're all allowed to talk about the crap stuff going on. once that time's up, you all focus on other nicer things going on! That way you all get to share the naff stuff, but as importantly, get to enjoy each others company as well.

I hope you get to the root of these new symptoms as they both sound as though they should be seen to sooner than later if for no other reason than to put your mind at ease. Sending sweet and positive thoughts your way.

MyDogMasksMyPain, I agree with madbynature... It's definitely a good way to speak about the things you need to get off your chest. With such drastic symptoms, if someone said you were a hypochondriac, they'd be nuts!!! If there are days that you don't think you can focus on other things because you're not well, then spend your day trying to meditate, do relaxation exercise with breathing and soft music, etc... You are so young to be dealing with these nightmares. I think you need to address your symptoms with your OB/GYN sooner than later. They don't sound like anything you want to mess with. You could simply have clogged milk ducts that are getting inflamed but I don't know about the blood from your urethra. Could possibly be nothing more than a urinary tract infection or bladder infection. You definitely need to have answers for your health and your peace of mind. I hope you get the help you need. I'm sending you well wishes and prayers for a good outcome. 💕🌻🙏🌻

Mydogmasksmypain, I agree with Madbynature on both points. Set aside time to address concerns with everyone, then focus on enjoying their company, and you theirs. Give yourself a break by putting your health issues on the back burner, while you watch a movie or play a game of cards or WII, etc.

Anytime blood comes from the urinary tract it should be checked out. It could be something other than your rheumatology issues. You don't want to put off getting seen and it get worse. If that happens you'll mentally beat yourself up or get depressed or both. The breat discharge also needs checking, especially since you said you have a lump. If you get checked and it's not a big issue, you'll feel relieved. And if it is something else, you'll have started the healing process earlier, hopefully avoiding a real bad issue.

Good luck, God bless & I'm praying for you. 🙏🌼

DogMasMyPain I agree with everyone set aside a time to talk about health issues then focus on good things that are going on.I second you need to see your ob/gun to make sure that there isn't anything serious going on with you. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks everyone. I have an obgyn appt this Friday. My urologist isn't available for a month so idk why to do there. I need a new pcp

Mar 24, 2015 6:45 PM

The ongyn will be able to check both and refer you to the urologist if needed. Praying it's going to be minor issues for you! 🙏🌼

I'm so glad that you got an appointment for Friday. Don't get concerned with the urologist because the OB/GYN can check both issues and then he/she will guide you to a urologist if you need one. I'll be thinking of you and you'll be in my prayers. I'll be standing by for the updates of your appointment. May it all be good news!! 💕🌻🙏🌺
