Sep 13, 2014 4:08 PM

Hi, i am a 20 year old girl. I have been suffering from severe pain in my legs since I have been young, my aunt had fibromyalgia so i am currently in the process of being diagnosed for fibromyalgia. It's spreading across my body; ankles, knees, hips, elbows, neck, back, etc.. Today its raining and it's very humid and I'm in terrible pain especially in my knees. I am currently taking cymbalta 60mg it doesn't seem like its working much..

Hey there. I'm Kat. nice to meet you sweetie. I'm 23 and like you I'm quite new to a fibromyalgia diagnosis but have known about the condition for some time. My mum was very sick when she was pregnant with me and since she has been left with fibromyalgia. I've never known my mum well or healthy. At age 13 I had a cancer scare but the lump was removed and tested which relieved that it was not cancer I had, thank god. I was never treated properly for what was actually wrong and my health got worse, I got tired, pain, sickness etc and it ended up being that I have Fibro and ME.

I feel you especially today! I'm sitting on the floor, just called work and celebrated like I won the lottery because, I can go in a hour later than usual.....my back is on fire with nerve pain. my feet feel like cement bricks. On the brighter side, I had almost 5 pain free days this week. I haven't had that in over a year. Always remember this too shall pass. I also try to remember the serenity prayer :)
