CatchMyPain Community and Pain Diary App to manage chronic illness

New to the app, not to pain

Aug 30, 2015 9:52 PM

I just started using this app, but I've suffered from chronic pain since 2000. I herniated two disks in my lower back after I got an eight week old puppy (it still makes no sense....), and nearly 15 years and 3 surgeries later, I still suffer from chronic pain every minute of every day.

If you're a new person to CP, you can survive with this. It's hard, just getting through the day, let alone thinking about tomorrow, but you can and will get through it. To those veterans, hi! I've got no wisdom for you since you've been there, just like I have, so you already know... 😉

If you need help, or advice, I'm more than happy to be there. If you need someone who'll just listen, I can do that too.

ErinENj01, welcome. I've had chronic pain since the 90's, primarily in my spine until 2008. I ruptured & herniated multiple discs, twice, requiring neck surgery. I had fusions C4-7. I have thoracic, lumbar, & sacral-upload problems now, bulges, tears and OA combined. So I understand your spine pain.

Since 2010 I've had so many different diagnosed problems that I can't work, nor shop without someone is with me. I use a cart in big stores but always have a cane now. Trust me, I'm not complaining, because things could always be so much worse. I feel blessed even with all my health issues.

It's somewhat a joke between some of us in the community that I belong to the "old timers" group, meaning I'm one who's had CP for decades. Lol. I joked back that those who were rather new to CP were the "greenhorns." But even us old timers can learn from them. I hope as you begin to interact you'll share your experiences and advice. Who knows who you might help? And we all need ears and shoulders now and then. 😉 Welcome and God bless you! 🙏🌼

ErinENj01, welcome to our community family!! I am sorry that you suffer as you do. I'm a "veteran" of chronic pain myself. You're right, it's very hard but we somehow manage to get through it. I've been in agony (usually at a level of 8) for almost 22 years. I've had approximately 28 surgeries to try to make me better and to no avail. I've been stricken with several autoimmune issues and they just keep piling on. I hope that you find us helpful on days that are difficult and that you are as happy as I am that I have found so many wonderful and understanding people. 🌻🙏🏻
