New to the community

Hello all! I am new to the community and the "wonderful" world of medical nightmares. I have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis in addition to muscle spasms and who knows what else. I am hoping to learn how to adjust through everyone's advice and hopefully find ways to relieve the constant and intense pain. I wish everyone well.

Welcome Simikins. I have fibro, Hypothyroidism and sjogrens (autoimmune issues) among many others. The most helpful to my pain was a combination of things, especially a pain care specialist and rheumatologist. I was put on Plaquenil for sjogrens and gained fibro pain relief too. My daily pain in the past two years went from a 7-8 to a 3-4. Of course I have flares but we all expect those. Another key factor is peace your activities to allow rest periods. I old you find the community as helpful as I have. 🙏🌼

Hi FlappysLady And tiny boo! Thank you both for the welcome! Sweet sassy and you both are in my prayers as well. I have been in pain for years and ignored it for as long as I could but I couldn't take it anymore. I didn't want to admit there was a problem but I am glad to know I have answers.

I'm new here....in very bad shape today. 54, have had fibromyalgia since about age 10 -- they dint even have a name for it then. My meds aren't working at all & I really don't want to go back on narcotics. Now take Gabapentin & Soma for pain. Can't tell a difference if I take them or not. Have lay in bed crying every day for over a week & at my wits end. Don't know how much more of this, every-waking-moment severe pain or not. See my dr on Wed but he never helps anything. Lyrica maybe??

HI simikins I also have fibro along with a few other conditions. I've found many of the fibro groups on Facebook can be quite judgemental so I hope here we can be ourselves

Many Social Media sites, being wide sread topic wise, you'll always have judgemental asses. It took me months, if not longer to find this one. I pray everyone who's joined this community, will keep each other in check so everyone can feel safe to be open & honest with their condition or feelings. Regardless of what life throws at any of us, we need to have a place like this and me personally, thank God for directing in finding the safe, loving & evcougement of this community.

Hi annlizardlover! I'm sorry you are in so much pain. Have you considered trying another dr? I know I hate starting over with new Drs but if the one you are seeing isn't helping it's time to move on. The frustrating thing with Drs is when they don't listen to what you say. I know my body better than anyone and have told Drs that when they give me the run around. I hate to say it but you really should. I have been soaking in my bath tub multiple times a day and that seems to help if I can get the temperature right. Try putting a towel or two in the bottom of the tub it helps make it a little more comfortable. I wish you the best!
Hi vintagebutterfly and tinyboo! This is my first community site that I have been involved with. So far everyone has been nice. I just wish we all knew what to say to each other or ourselves to make everything better.
