Hi, I am 25 years old and been dealing with a lot of pain went to several docs before I found one that was helpful. Then got a referral to a rheumatologist I started to keep track of the pain so I could help them figure out what's wrong. Any suggestions for the upcoming appointment?
Welcome! I am also new. Im young like you, 28 and just saw a rheumatologist for the first time in September and was then diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Keeping track of the pain is a great start. A suggestion would be to also prepare ahead of time for the questions you will be asked. Examples are: What are your symptoms? Describe the type of pain and how widespread? How long have you had the symotoms? What makes you better/ what makes you worse? Family history? The more specific you can be the easier it will be to get a diagnosis! Hope all goes well for you!!!
HCristi has great ideas. Also if you have any other diagnosis they want that and if you have had any surgeries they will ask that. And a list of your medications. (i found it also helps to have a list of meds and other things you have tried that didn't work.
😉Write everything down in black and white. 🤗Print out and organise pain logs 📑...and note any questions that u have 🤔to jog ur memory in ur meeting.📖 The more information📒 u can collate and take with u... the better. 📔Drs like that... i have pain diary books... 📚medication titration books... 📚sleep diary... etc etc 🐫 Ur doctor will be impressed how organised u r... and how much u want to help her/him 🐫to find the right diagnosis and treatment 😊for ur condition. 😚
