New twist

Oct 25, 2015 7:36 PM

I've been having progressive problems for the last 3 wks. Started out with acute pain in my sacrum and lumbar below my L 4_5 fusion with legs going weaker. Then I lose control of my bladder. My legs have gotten even weaker. My left leg and foot are swollen. Then I became dizzy after sitting for more than 5 min and I am twitching and shaking. I go to the local ER 3 times in 3 weeks. They say "it's just your chronic pain", give me a shot of toradol and send me home. Yesterday I go to the county hospital, it's the only level 1 trauma center in town, spent 9 hrs there. They found that there is a compression in the "horsetail" area of the lower spine. Now I have to find a neurologist or neurosurgeon who takes Medicaid in Texas. This should be fun.

Cearea, I'm so sorry you're hurting so. It sounds like the compression is causing "cauda equina" syndrome. I'll be praying for you, and that you get the best doctor. Hugs! 🙏🌼

That's what they called it. I couldn't remember. My brain isn't working well.

Well, the positive side of this is that there is something that can be done to help your pain. I'm praying that you find a good surgeon who is willing to help you.
