Welcome, a lot of us can't sleep, the best sugestions I have heard are, melatonin or other sleep aids, sleepy time tea, or other non caffine warm drinks, listening to instrumental music while in bed and with the lights off, hot packs or what ever works to relax sore muscles, and trying to maintain a regular sleep schedule (understandably hard when you are in pain) I hope something helps.
Just joined too, need something to improve my outlook so a daily pain chart should hopefully help and when I see my osteopath. Good luck everybody chronic pain is awful and difficult for non sufferers to understand.
Cant sleep tonight either. I have been taking melatonin for only 3 days. I am not sure if it is working. I tried to fine a high dosage. The highest i found is 10mg. I might try taking it for a week then not to see if i notice a difference.
My rheumatologist actually gave me a muscle relaxer to help me fall asleep. I now take Flexeril 1 tab a night and 1&1/2 tabs on the weekend. It is a very low dose but I can see the difference just between the weekdays and the weekend. I am out cold and hit REM sleep and it feels so good when I wake up. If you are willing to try a medicine I would suggest that.
I have tried every muscle relaxer in the book including flexeril. I have a bunch of muscle relaxers just in a box because i dont feel right throwing them in the trash. They never work for me so i stopped taking them. Im trying melitonin, but i dont believe it is working.
