CatchMyPain Community and Pain Diary App to manage chronic illness

Newbie With Multiple Diagnosis

Hello everyone,
I found this App a few weeks ago. Have been using it to track my pain. I have severe Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Cervical and Lumbar Disc Disease, Osteoporosis, Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, serious back injury and left knee injury.

I am in constant pain all the time which caused me to go on Long Term Disability from my very demanding and stressful career in the finance and accounting world in January 2014. I have also filed for SSDI and waiting on an appeal hearing as my case was denied twice, which is the normal practice.

I had a functional capacity test done in September of 2015 that confirmed that I am performing at a less than sedatary capacity. I have limited capacity to sit, stand, walk, reach, forward bend, climb and grasp.

I miss the person that I used to be but I have learned to be contented with the person who I am today, pain and all.

I have strong faith and hope so I continue to press on each day embracing the current life journey that I am traveling.

I am really glad that I found this community.

Thank you so much. I've been reading many of the other posts. We all seem to be in the same boat. It is good to have a support group and a place to vent when needed. Praying that we will all have more pain free days in the future.

Welcome Angelic, I am happy you are here. I think it is nice that you have learned to be content with your new life. It seems like you have went through the grieving stages of disability. I had a job in a profession I loved and it took me a long time to come to terms that it was over. I just kept holding on when than was no way I could go back. So I think that it is neat how you transitioned yourself to cope. Best wishes.

Thank you so much for your response Profiler. So hit the nail on the head, I went through a long grieving period. It was not easy because I had to come to terms with the death of the old me and learn to accept the new me. It is a total renewing of the mind.

I pray for everyone on this forum. The life that we live every day is extremely difficult. Especially when you have to live it with little or no support from close friends and or lover ones.

Welcome AngelicS. Sorry to hear of your struggles and hope things become easier soon.
This is a nice community where you can vent as much as you like. We're all sufferers in our own ways and it's good to not feel alone with such isolating conditions.
