CatchMyPain Community and Pain Diary App to manage chronic illness

No longer in denial

Been having a lot of widespread and unexplainable pain for the last few months. My father and paternal aunt as well as my only sister all have fibromyalgia. Had one doctor hint at it for me. Did get a formal diagnosis twice on costoncronditis last year. So I'm starting this pain diary for the first time. Sigh......

Can you tell I'm new at this?! Lol some info on me, 43yr old wife and mother. My main job is caretaker to my 18yr old nonverbal autistic son. So that being said, I really can't afford to lie around all day in pain and having a self pity party. As for the fibro, experienced full blown symptoms for a while back in 2005 and finally scheduled an appointment with a Doctor but magically my symptoms dissipated. No answer for it. At that time in my life my stress levels decreased but I was put on meds for bipolar disorder. So I'm not sure if the meds did it. Now, I've had a partial hysterectomy and weaned myself off of those crazy meds. Bam! Full blown fibromyalgia symptoms have returned and then some. Probably won't get a formal diagnosis, I hate doctors. Simple as that. I do plan on tracking my symptoms and possibly try herbals and other methods. No pain meds for me! No more crazy meds either. Forget that!

I totally understand and agree with you about doctors and meds! I try to manage my illness with diet but I'm questioning even that now.

Hang in there!! It's not easy and I understand what you mean about not being able to lay around. It's really a catch 22. You function and it causes more pain, you don't function and your in pain anyway. Meds, no meds, rest, no rest... It all plain sucks!! Just know, you're not alone.. We can all get through this together

oMG! I am in total agreement! if I don't do enough I am still in Paine, but if I do too much more pain with a flare! balance is key

doctors can be so insufferable, it's a shame so many get turned off to All doctors base on just two or three.
