Non-opioid pain help

Nov 23, 2015 11:59 PM

Have any of you had success taking mobic or meloxicam? Currently trying to reduce the morphine sulphate, but starting to workout has proven difficult without my am dosage. I also take the gabapentin 2400 mg daily.
I appreciate any input you may have for me.

I honestly haven't heard of either. Are they like nerve pain treatments?

Apparently the Mobic (generic form: meloxicam) is a type of Anti inflammatory medication. The gabapentin is used for nerve pain and as an anti seizure med.

Positivelyupright, I have many medication allergies and/or odd reactions. I was given Mobic for my OA and back pain, following a procedure. I hallucinated beyond belief. If my sister and hubby hadn't been there to witness it no one would have believed me!

My sister called and asked what I was doing and I told her I was talking to a little outrageous girl beside my bed. My hubby overheard it and came in the room to take the phone from me. I asked him if he saw the pretty little girl and he said no. When I looked up at him he suddenly had three heads! Lol we all get a big laugh out of it. And my sister said only I would react weird like that.

But I think I got it from my dad, because following total knee replacement he was given oxycotin. He was asleep in his bed then started talking and moving his arms in a "Catholic Crossing" of the chest. We all started laughing and he opened his eyes and asked what was so funny. When I told him what he'd done he said it wasn't funny because he "was blessing the dead.". He had several more issues like that and the doc took in off that med.

Start slowly with your exercise and always do slow gentle stretches before and after. I've found it helpful to take a warm shower before I exercise. It helps loosen up my joints. I've been building my time for five months. Good luck! 🙏🌼

Did not feel it did much for me but it has different affects on every person. Maybe it will be the one that works the best for you. Those things usually take several days to work.

Okay Thank you for your input! Helpful to know. I am one that the opposite effects happen to me. Says may make drowsy, and I get hyper wound up!
My back has been hurting more on a daily basis. It must be the cold weather! I'll keep praying about the anxiousness and trust God with the exact things' I could do better in. Thank you Lord Jesus
