Not having a good day at all......Feeling really emotional

Jan 12, 2016 5:24 PM

In fact it was downright crappy. First I got fussed out for not going to the ER this weekend because of the increased pelvic pain. Then the exam itself was absolutely horrible(I'll spare you the details on that one). I just have one thing to say after that experience. NEVER, EVER again will I go to the nurse practioner in that office. It's got to be an emergency for that to happen. Yes, I did use my voice but it did me absolutely no good. I know this is tmi but I'm sorry I need to say this. I kept trying to scoot my butt back away from the edge of the table all while saying OUCH!!!!!! Thank god it's only an ovarian cyst, and not something more serious like appendicitis. I must also say that for someone who deals with PTSD which is made worse in medical situations, that was enough to trigger. But I refuse to let that happen already. Just got to get through Saturday morning for the ultrasound, and the big appointment on Monday morning. Thank god that one is going to be a piece of cake because I've got safety for that.
Yes, I will stay in the same practice because they have been taking care of me since I was 9 but I refuse to go back to her. Just left a horrible freaking taste in my mouth all over again.

I'm so sorry you weren't through that Amanda! I hope you voiced your feelings to the office administrator. I'll be praying things will go smoothly through Monday. Hugs!! 😷🙏🌼

Amanda I'm sorry so very sorry you had to endure that . have u thought of reporting the incident I know she had to get the information and examn u. But there is a thing called bedside manner.. That horrible

Amanda I am so sorry that you had to endure that experience. I would call your Dr and talk to him and explain how ruff she was with you. There is such a thing as compassion shown to their patients that are in severe pain. Some women Dr's/ PA'S are ruffer than men Dr's/PA's. I remember when I was having all of my pelvic pain my Dr had never hurt me was always so gentle with his exams but because of all the inflammation and pain he hurt me for the first time in seeing him over 25 years. I' not trying to make an excuse for her behavior because she could have apologized to you for hurting you. Will be praying for you and sending you hugs.

Weezie and new, I will be discussing that with my regular gyn on Monday. There was absolutely no need for that at all. And Weezie, you are right. There is a much bigger difference between male and female gyns. And not even a word of apology. None.

Weezie, honestly I've never had that happen with the gyn I regularly see. He is incredibly gentle and handsome(Always can attest to that one). But the thing that irritated me the most was I told her that I'd been having severe nausea along with it, but no meds were called into the pharmacy at all. So I'm just basically left to deal with it until Monday morning. Crackers and soup will be my mainstays this week.

Weezie, today was another awful day. Had to go to the ER early this morning. Pain maxed out on me already and was instructed to do so by one of the midwives. They thought it was my appendix but it wasn't. Absolutely nothing showed up on ct scan today although wbc count was a tad bit high as well as neutrophil count. The ER doc was not helpful at all. No scripts for anything, although they did give me a dose of IV toradol and 1 tablet of Tramadol about 2 hours after that. Again, clear liquids for now. Follow up with gyn when next scheduled(Monday) or earlier if needed. Not a happy camper......
