Morning peeps This morning has basically sucked. IV blew again last night for some reason. They spent 10 minutes trying to get it to run in, but no such luck. She then tried 3 seperate times in both hands to get one but nope to that either. Mercifully, she called the nurse on call and let him know what was going on. They'll try to get another one in tomorrow morning. The nurse today actually suggested that I talk to the surgeon and ask him about getting a PICC line placed. My veins are just really fragile and small. My mom is even in agreement with it as well. So we shall see what happens. Going back to rest and try to recover from that.
Well , if it is taken care of , two weeks even more in some cases. But , that was in the critical care units, that's where I used to work. It can stay in place as long as you need your IV Antibiotic therapy.
Amanda I am so sorry that you had to go thru that this morning g. It's no fun being stuck so many times. It will probably be the best thing for you getting a PICC line put in ,it will take some of the stress away when you have to get yor IV meds. Praying for you and sending hugs your way.
Sorry you've had a bad stretch.. It rough when every time u turn it one more thing. I'm praying u get a break from your issues... Pain is one thing but to have a hard time healing from other painful stuff.. Just take it one step at time Amanda
New, I guess you could say it was better this morning. They got a line in first attempt, but they also had to call in one of the other nurses who has really good luck getting access on people with horrible veins like myself. Still going to have a discussion with my surgeon on Tuesday morning.
