When I saw the second neurosurgeon I thought he would listen to my health history, explain how he could help me, and if that help involved surgeries, what I needed to know to make a decision. (The first n. Surg. Said I was beyond his expertise.) I think #2 doc thought I was there To schedule surgery. He said I would have to make the decision what I would do next (schedule) before he would tell me in what ways it would impact my life. The only thing he suggested I do was ride a recumbent fitness bicycle So I would be stronger as I cannot walk very far.
OK. A couple months go by. I don't want the cost of a gym membership, so I purchase a recumbent bike. I started getting up an hour earlier( that is if I managed to actually fall asleep) and for the last 2 weeks have ridden for 30 minutes each morn. I enjoy it as I desperately miss the 5 mile walks I used to take before chronpain.
The thing is I feel worse! I can barely make it to the bathroom and back. My lower back is inflamed. Standing upright is very difficult. And the insurance won't do the prior authorization for the prescription for my Barrett's, my stomach is hurting so bad, everything I eat upsets it or does not stay down.
I want to weep. A lot. Nothing is working.
