Doctor mentioned it.

Percocet is pretty useless, and I won't up the dose. Tramodol gives me a headache.

Nucynta was a helpful pain medication for me. I used it until I lost my insurance. It is very expensive . Give it a try what you are doing is not working so you have nothing to lose.

Wasn't helpful for me. Luckily though, it's not a narcotic but is expensive and some insurance won't cover it. (What else is new?) anyway give it a shot.. You have nothing to lose but pain. Hope it works for you.

I've never been on it personally, but it does seem like a good step to take for chronic pain considering it's extended-release! It's definitely a narcotic medication, but that's part of what makes it work well enough for chronic pain. I've done some research on it in the past and thought it had a really good profile, but my doc would probably never mention it to me and I wouldn't dare mention it to him b/c of how everything is treated politically. I say, give it a try! An extended-release med is so great for around-the-clock pain! Short-acting stuff is necessary for flare-ups but causes a lot of ups and downs on a daily basis.
