Nuvigil med?

Mar 08, 2016 6:32 PM

Has anyone had good or bad experiences with Nuvigil? My psych doc wants me to try it for inability to focus & function, and sleeping during the day. I've never heard of it. But what I read on drugs.com concerns me. Thanks for any input! 🙂💕🙏🌼

It helped me stay awake throughout the day without feeling too jittery and without a major crash at the end of the day. The first three days I was on it, I didn't sleep, so you might need something to cancel it out at night. Surprisingly, I had no side effects on it, when normally I always get the worst ones when I start new meds. If you're concerned about it, maybe try taking half and work up over a week. That's what my doc always has me do, because I'm sensitive to even small amounts of medication.

Excellent med for narcolepsy, was not originally made for ADHD symptoms but lots of docotrs prescribe it ...take smallest dose , very early , expect some insomnia at first.love ,Terri

I'm on it for my daytime sleepiness from my narcolepsy. I've found it really helpful. For the first few days I did get headaches but they weren't terrible. No jittery feelings. My only lasting side effects is it gives me pretty bad dry mouth, but I've gotten some lozenges and increased my water intake and it's not so bad. I'm not sure if it would keep me up at night since I take a sleep medication as well.

Oh no! I have Sjogrens, which causes severe dryness of the eyes, noise, mouth, and can attract joints and other organs. It may be a bad thing for me. I'm still waiting for my insurance to approve it.

Flappsy, we're going ro keep our fingers crossed that you don't have dry mouth when you take that medication and it does what it's supposed to!! Last thing you need is to open your mouth to chat and blow tumbleweeds!! LOL!! {{{Hugs}}} 💕🙏🏻🌻😍

It worked great for me, except it attacked my osteoarthritis joints and made them intolerable while on it. If you get joint pain, call your doc inmediately.

Also, check out nuvigil's website for a possible coupon to offset your copay.

I took it awhile back. It helped make staying awake during the day easier. I experienced some crazy weird dreams while on it and stopped taking it. Haven't tried anything else.
