I feel like in the odd one, i hear a lot of people complaining about cold weather increasing their pain. But im the opposite!? When it's below freesing outside im in less pain than usual and i can do more before my pains take over. Am i the only one who's like that?
How our chronic pain reacts to weather varies by individual. Some people's pain will improve when it's hot outside, some will improve when it's cold outside, and for some there is no correlation between weather and pain levels. My pain becomes worse when it's too cold or too hot, so my ideal temperature is between -10°C and 15°C (14°F - 59°F).
If you find you're pain improves when it's cold, there are some things you can try. One suggestion I have for you is to look into buying a cooling vest, which lowers body temperature and makes you colder. Unfortunately cooling vests can cost above $100.
