Hello I am new and love the posts thanks.like many or all, I too am going through the right dr -for the symptoms I have. Has medical care always been this profoundly difficult. I am 61 and have been moved up to finding my own specialist. I was diagnosed with the the bones of 85 yr.old woman, but that was 10 yrs ago.cant take the medice, now having difficulty walking, also I have unregulated thyroid, cataracts and several retina tears ,so I am legally blind. In the last three yrs, I have fallen and let me explain these falls, I have no clue I am going to fall and when I do fall, it's as if I have no reflexes to try to prevent the fall,ie landing flat on my face. Now seeing neurologist.

Forgot this the neurologist I first saw for headache problems. I have never been so shocked.while explaining symptoms of headaches ,he stop me and told me that Medicare won't cover over three symptoms and he was allowed only 15 minutes, thanks for listening

Linkup2lifp Hi welcome to our group, it is a wonderful group. No one is judged, everyone is very supportive. I am sorry to here about that Neurologist, I have more than 3 symptoms and have never been told that Dr is only allowed 15 min per pt. I don't think that is coming from medicare it sounds more like this Dr is trying to see a certain volume of pts a day. I think you need a different Dr., what state do you live in? Someone may know of a better Dr you could see.

Linkup2lifp, Welcome. I'm so sorry for your experience with that doctor. For a first time visit he should have allotted 30-45 minutes. His attitude towards you is not the behavior of a compassionate and caring doctor. I'm only 53 and my husband has work insurance, so I don't know about the Medicare system.

I would suggest making another appointment and stress to the receptionist you need 30-45 minutes. I would make a list of the top 3 concerns you have (make sure its neurological issues, what he deals with). And take someone in with you, making sure the doctor knows they are there for you (to speak and hear). You'll have a witness to his behavior in the event you want to file a complaint. I can't think of the name right now but there's a board who oversees physicians.

I do agree with weezie12, that it sounds like the doctor wants to see a specific amount of patients for profit. I hope you have a blessed weekend.
