Ouch! Yet Blessed!

I was rearended last night, with my 12 year old daughter, while sitting at a stop light 🚦... I remained still in the car, we called 911 & both police 👮🏼🚔🚑🚒 & Fire truck came. I refused the ambulance & drove to my urgent care center. The doctor read my medical record, & during the examination, she was very much like my husband - which I will get to him in a moment- she asked me to squeeze her fingers, when I did, she cocked her head to the side & said "come on now, I said squeeze my fingers" I tried to break her fingers for being so condescending, & then she repeated herself! I let out a wince, & she moved on. It felt like she was tossing me around like a rag doll.
So my husband- he wakes up super early to go to work. When I called him after calling 911- about 10:45pm, he says to me- "listen I have to get up early, so if you go to the hospital, have the docs call me & let me know how you are doing" ... I was truly shocked! I wasn't in a very good place, so I said to him, "thank you so much for your support" & hung up. 5 minutes later he was at the scene. I started having a panic attack & his sarcastic tone to tell the paramedics that I have "these stupid panic attacks" almost shot me through the roof! Are people really this uncaring? 😥

This group has saved me from myself so many times. Thank you for giving me a place to put out there, what I could only wish my husband could do for me.

OMG!! I am so very sorry that this happened to you. If you couldn't squeeze the doctor's fingers, not just once but even the second time when you were angry, she should have known there was a problem. I am so very sorry for your husband's insensitivity. I can't imagine getting that response when you made the call. How are you feeling today? Is the pain worse? How is your daughter? Was she hurt at all in the accident? Sending you gentle {{{{Hugs}}}} and prayers that you don't have any serious injuries from the accident, that your daughter is ok and that you gave your husband a good swift kick in the ass!!! 💕🙏🏻🌻😊

I'm sorry to hear about your accident and everything that happened afterwards. Doctors don't know us. That doesn't excuse their insensitivity or their arrogance, mind you. Our loved ones, however, our family and friends, they do know us. They've seen the pain on our faces, our good days, our anxiety and guilt...everything that makes us, us. We should expect them, especially in trying situations, to support and care for us. I'm especially sorry that wasn't the case for you. How are you and your daughter today?

Your doctor's behavior reminded me of when I was taken to hospital with my blood pressure so low the nurse couldn't register it. I had been suffering from extreme knee pain. The doctor came in the a room, picked up my leg. I winced. She dropped my leg and it fell to the bed. She shook her head at me like I was being a naughty child and walked out. She hadn't said a single word to me. Turns out my knee had started to fuse together, even though I was in Physio daily. Doctors...

I'm so sorry Autoimmunerrrrr! I hope you & your daughter will be ok. I can't believe your hubby acts like that. Bless your heart. He needs a good luck in the seat of his pants! Lol. And I agree with Alwayz, the doc should have treated you better & investigated more. I'd be tempted to file a complaint on her, especially if things worsen. But I'm praying they don't! You do need to see a neurologist and/or an orthopedist. Hugs!! 🙂💕🙏🌼

OMG, I'm so sorry you suffered so from such uncaring people, especially people who should care about your injuries!
Oh, I would kick your man so hard, he doesn't sound worthy of a goddess like yourself!
And definitely try to talk to a manager or ombudsperson about that doctor. Their treatment of you could have exacerbated things which could be trouble with the accident insurance! Either way, they had your chart, they didn't need to try to rediagnose you when you were there for another problem!
Gentle hugs to you and your daughter, please get better soon.

Thank you everyone for your kind words! My daughter is doing great! I failed to mention that, I apologize. My sponsor suggested I ask him to leave for a couple of days, so I may heal. A year ago, before my diagnosis- I never would have stood for even one bad behavior with a man. Now I am apparently completely on the other side of the pendulum! I need to get centered & fast! The muscle relaxers are helping quite a bit, & as I was telling my AA sponsor, who also suffers from autoimmune garbage, that because this pain is so different, & it's worse than my usual pain... I can't seem to feel the old stuff as much & I am quite delighted to be focused on different areas of my body pain. LoL! She said "girl I get that!😊"
I need to make an appt to see my GP, then get a referral for my neurologist & a physical therapist for sure! Thanks for the recommendations!

I did notice that your husband did show up at the scene, after you talked to him on the phone. Maybe he was tired and did not realize how he was coming off, my sponsor always tells me to give my husband a break, get off of his back...etc . As you know , anytime we ponder a twisted or broken relationship, our emotions always go on the defense...(/from the 12 and 12)..so with that ..I want you to rest and try to remember why you posted....Ouch! Yet Blessed....I hope you are doing okay tonight..I am happy to know that you and your precious daughter did not suffer any more that you did..I am glad it was not worse..much love sweetie!!! Terri

Oh my gosh, feeling for you autoimmunerrrr. I am so glad you two are okay. I can't figure why they would treat as they did. Especially that man. It is much more piercing from someone you love .

Auto... I say ditto to TerrI's response. Your hubby was problably in a sleep fog. Give him credit for getting his buns down there pronto. And why send him away... Work his body...let him wait on you hand and foot! Thank God you nor your daughter were injured badly. I think when that doc said come on squeeze the second time I would have kicked her and said "Oh My something is seriously wrong!!" 🤕😱
