Overheated, cannot get cooled down.... Any help??

Oct 03, 2015 6:10 AM

Yesterday was a very bad day for my pain levels and then on top ofoff that I spiked a fever last night. I slept very poorly and finally at 5:30am decided to stop trying to sleep. I immediately started over heating, it's now 7:00 am and I am still over heating even though I have been laying 2 inches from a fan on high for over an hour. The fever is gone. Other than getting into a tepid bath, which right now I cannot get back out of, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get cooled down??? Thank you for any help!!!

Cool washcloth in front of fan

Rstahl09, Wet some towels and lay them on your body while laying in front of the fan. Put one on the crown/top of your head. Hugs & a prayer you will feel better soon! 🙏🌼

Rstah109, I would recommend cool compresses on the inside of your wrists, the back of your neck and even at your flanks, cooling off all the major arteries and helping to bring down your core temperature. Don't allow yourself to get a chill as you said that you had a fever and wouldn't want to exacerbate whatever caused it. I hope that you feel better. Let us know how you are doing.🙏🏻🌻

Thank you all for the suggestions!!! I have continued to have more time of over heating than being cool since the weekend, and wish that would stop but at least now I know how to cool off if I can get cold clothes and a fan!!!! Thank you all!!!!

Lukewarm shower and Tylenol extra strength, should cool you down and a nice cat nap should work out for you.

Take a lukewarm shower then put on the least amount of clothing no covers with cool compress on head . Hope you feel better.

Word of experianced wisdom here, are you taking any new medications and/or changed the time/frequency of medications. I say only as when I get my meds wrong I sometimes swing into proffuse sweating for several days. Only happened 3 times and I'm religous with my timings and quantities.

Should this be in no way relevant I appologies for clogging up your wall x
