Pain crisis

Jul 04, 2016 9:59 AM

Last night, the pain was so bad I called my doctor through the physician's exchange. She ended up calling in a couple of prescriptions for me... Tylenol #3 for the pain (300mg acetaminophen and 30mg codeine), and Neurontin for the nerve pain (which I found out takes at least a week to start working 😞). The Tylenol #3 barely made a dent in the pain, and obviously the Neurontin has not yet had time to work, so I am in MISERABLE pain. I do not know what to do. I am so miserably FRUSTRATED!!!!!! 😠

Bluegypsea, I'm so sorry you had such a horrible night. You obviously were at your max or you would not have called the doctor. Just some suggestions.. I don't know what of these you've tried and perhaps you've tried all, if so, I'm sorry for repeating. Hot soaks in the tub, moist heating pads, TENS Unit, gentle stretching and massage the area, perhaps the new Icy Hot with Lidocaine, listening to soft music that is calming, also some guided meditation or thinking of something you really love to do and imagine being in that place doing what you love. Biofeedback, mindfulness, chamomile tea to soothe you. I wish there were some other suggestions I could make. These are the things I do when I can't take it any more. I also come here to look in on and take care of my peeps.. That always makes me feel better. Sending you best wishes, gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you have a better day.💕🙏🏻🌻😊

Unfortunately marijuana is not yet legal in the state of Missouri, where I live. 😞

Unless you're in Wales and have MS, you can be prescribed sativex which I think is a spray, they use it for muscle spasms specifically I believe- derived from marijuana

Here we have it in pill form called nabilone. I have been prescribed it for sometime. It was pioneered in norfolk and norwich uni hospitals. Side effects are very minimal. Its prescribed for musclespasms but also an anti nausea medication for people on chemotherapy. One amazing drug

I'm sorry your pain level is so high. I take warm showers, do relaxation & stretches, use muscle relaxers, massage pain ointment, & pain meds, and I exercise by walking on a treadmill. On days like you described I do nothing but rest. Hugs & prayers you feel better soon! 🙂💕🙏🌼

The neuronton will make you feel better - I'm on 600 - 3 times a day. It does take a week or so, but you should be feeling less pain as it takes effect. You sound like you are on the right path.

...just my experiences so far...
(Please read smiling... just how i wrote it... thanQ)

I have been prescribed sativex in the past... but sadly it was a real let down...its really vile...it gave me serious mouth ulcers... and hallucinations.!

I have smoked marajuana for ten years plus.. for pain relief...& anti-nausia ,(active ingredient THC), so i am able to use it for breakthru pain...quite effectively.

I try to just vape it now...(no tobacco/nicotine/or tar), but ingesting sativex... or marajuana orally gives a different effect... one that i hated.

Sativex feels like spraying neat alchohol spray in ur mouth. Dosage was 2 sprays, under the tongue... every four hours! Shoot..One spray under my tongue and i was tripping balls all day!

I have also tried vaping CBD oil... which is supposed to be good for pain. It is the other active ingredient in cannabis (but it does not get u high)... sadly no effect after a weekend trial... so i prefer to just vape THC... i wish it was legal... but at least i get it delivered 😊

I am going to try nabilone soon. I have an appointment coming up next week. I would love to stop hiding because cannabis is not PC in the UK... yet they cant throw enough fentanyl my way which is way way worse... Its brutal!

I hope this helps a little... one thing i do know... cannabis is an amazing drug for pain... used for many many years... until it got it banned... due to the drug addiction boom in 1924... it was still available prescribed by doctors until 1971 when it was completely illegalized!

I truely wonder how long till the prescription med addiction boom, happening now...will ban morphine...??? Where does that leave us???

😆 Smiling rant over, hugs lulabel 🤗
