The thing that way of great concern for me was what happens when you get pregnant? My doctor could not tell me if my spine would move during pregnancy because of all the hormone shifts. That was why I did not have it removed a longtime ago. Then after you have children your thoughts shift to how can I have that much down time and be a Mom. Maybe things have changed now with the new way that they put in two rods. That was my concerns.
Great topic. I want mine roved but drs won't let me. My pelvis is screwed together which will be a problem during pregnancy and I have bone that grew over the plate and screws so removal would be almost impossible.
Thank you all for your Input. I'm so unsure on what to do.. I'm only seventeen but yes I have definitely considered if or when I have children later on in life if I will have some problems, my surgeon seems to think I am still as capable as anyone else to give birth.
My concern is whether or not the curve of my spine will come back, because I don't want to have had gone through all this bullsh$! And pain for the god dam thing to come back!
Sorry to all, I've been out of it for a while, hope you are all feeling better! X
Harris as you know I have scoliosis too. I had a normal pregnancy. But my delivery was not. After a very long time of not much happening I had a C-section and a very healthy baby. The only issue was I had passed the gene to her and she has scoliosis too. Same kind of surgery with two rods like you.
