Pain is at an 11!

Jan 14, 2017 5:28 AM

Again I am asking for everyone's help. Now that I am not on my meds, does anyone have suggestions regarding what I can take? Or do? Waiting for my masseuse until Tuesday and I am scared that I won't make it through this. I have RSD and fibro, plus I am still feeling a lot of pain from both feet and every joint of my body

I know you aren't there yet but taking gluten out of my diet did make a difference for me in my pain levels.

I'd be in a hot bath as much as possible ... Espom salts.

Heating pad.

Gentle movements and drink lots of water to continue to flush out your system.

Wishing Tuesday was sooner for you. And that my magic wand worked.

I'm really impressed with your accomplishments and coming thru this awful experience ...

Have you tried soaking in a warm/hot bath with 1-2 cups of Epsom bath salts? It helps to relax your muscles.
Hot and cold packs? Or a heated blanket or heat pad?

I am scared to slip on the tub as far as a bath goes. I will try heat. I feel like the tin man from the wizard of Oz.

Foggurl, thank you. I will do just about anything right now. I have to meet my family today for lunch I hope that I can and not feel like this.

Personly it works for me. Could try freezing ya feet in ice water or a wheat bag from freezer on the bottom of ya feet. Wait til you feel cold in your thigh muscles... stand bare footed in snow for 1/2 an hour.. they all help me but it does hurt more for a couple of mins... hope helps. G x

Or alternate hot cold hot cold for 10 mins..G

Ice is a problem for me because it is all nerve pain and ice can cause permanent (it already is permanent) damage especially in my feet. But I will try some heat. Definitely taking a bath today.

Sorry I was meant to write more but my baby girl was feeling upset with an ear infection and that being ill has pushed her blood glucose levels high (dx type 1 diabetic 5 months ago).

Make sure you keep hydrated but try to keep clear of fizzy drinks and caffeinated drinks tho as they may make you more on edge and shaky.

Have you tried distraction....watching a film, colouring or maybe writing a poem, story, jurnal or a letter to yourself or someone else.

Have you tried sitting quietly listening to relaxing music with your feet on a heat pad and have a relaxing lavender scented candle on?

Do you have a foot spa or a large bowl and fill with warm/hot water and put some epsom bath salts if feel unsure about a bath.

Can't think thro the fog today.....I had loads more ideas but I just can't remember them now!!!!

I hope that you start to feel better soon and remember how far you've come....such a long way and you should be very proud of yourself I know I'm proud and amazed at what you've achieved.

Send you lots of strength and positive vibes and warm healing hugs xx

Grogg, I can't imagine standing in snow barefoot for that long!! I can't imagine doing it at all. I'm so glad it's something that works for you. (How long did it take you to build up to that?) I have gone out and stood on the pavement in Winter) it was a wicked and painful. |{{Hugs}}}💕

Jan 15, 2017 4:07 AM

I'm with you Alwayz, when it snowed here Thursday evening I stood outside to listen to the quiet and peacefulness of the snow but after a minute or two it became extremely cold and far too painful for me! 😨❄

Hi Always! Yes pavement, rain, cold wet grass. All that sort of thing. I often go barefoot for a smoko.

To answer your question its when nerve pain really flares, its purely desperation really. I find it useful if feet and legs are on fire. As you know its unpleasent painful relief. Yes its helps, it calms my nerves for an hour or so. Then i can get off to sleep. Lol only to wake a littlle later.........you know the rest... and the cycle starts again. As we all know pain is very difficult, overwhelming and time consuming to contend with. Hugs back. Gx
