Hi all. Unfortunately I have been in excruciating pain the past few days. I feel bad all over but the worst is I feel like my spine and hip are being separated from my spine and connecting bones. It's awful pain. Definitely a 10 as I can hardly get out of bed or off the toilet without screaming.
I have yet to be officially diagnosed but (forgive my ignorance) can fibromyalgia be this painful? I'm struggling with this.
Hi Artemis113. I'm sorry you're hurting so bad. Yes definitely fibro can be that painful. Have you tried heat? Heating pad, electric blanket, the like. Try soaking in as hot water you can stand with 1-2 cups of Epsom salt. Stay in at least 20 minutes. Try several days in a row. It will build up and help more. Those are the things I can think of right now.
Thanks yes I have been using a heating blanket this week. It's pretty sad when that is what my number one gift request for Christmas was. Anyway I will do the Epsom salts. This is terrible and so difficult to comprehend because I am a concrete thinker and nothing to cause this level of pain had showed up in the tests. I do have some back and neck problems with bulging discs and the like but all of the doctors are saying "it's not that bad" as to cause debilitating pain. Thank you again for the response and the support. This is a good board with helpful and understanding people.
I understand & you should be. I got an MRI before going to chiro. I brought it with, per her request, and she goes off that. She's knowledgeable in Chinese medicine, too, I believe it's very helpful. Yes, she cracks me where she feels I need it most & same with the acupuncture, all in same visit. For me, she's found spinal issues no one else did. Just ask lots quests & explain your fears, they're valid. Good luck!
Artemis, I also am in same boat. Yet to be diagnosed with 6 mos. in already and a tough road it has been. As I do not have spine issues been going to chiropractor since I was 18 and I work(worked) for the one I see now for 15 years, he has gotten me through all other hurdles that originally started my problem. He also does more than chiro, he does nutrition and dry needling (similar to acupuncture) My next move is neurologist for the peripheral neuropathy I am having. Good luck to you!
Suggest you look into chronic pain management doctor if you don't have already and look for a massage therapist who is trained in the John Barnes method of Myofascial Release Therapy. Go to www.QBodyWorks.net and click on About MFRto learn about this method. I see the practioner at this location and she is wonderful!
Thanks all. Yes I am on my second Pain Management Dr. The first one didn't even examine me and told me to stop eating donuts (um which I haven't eaten in about 10 years), wouldn't listen and couldn't wait to give me epidural lumbar injections, which I stupidly did after he had me in tears from all but calling me fat and lazy. So the second one was nicer but I tried calling twice last week due to excruciating pain, no call back although I was promised a nurse would call back, and I also left a patient portal message desperately asking for help with no answer. But then again, this is coming from a doctor who said no matter how bad I feel, I have to get up and exercise - which would be fine if I could "get up"! Grr! I feel so defeated.
Hi Artemis113. I tried to send you a pm but could not. I noticed you mentioned on the "were are you" Disscution your in Central Florida. I am as well. I didn't know if I could help you with some doctors or you help me with some of we are in the same area. It was saying you had an old version and could not except pm's so don't know how we could share info. I'm about an hour NW of Orlando.
