Pain Management, Another Diagnosis!!!

Sep 16, 2015 12:16 AM

UGH!!! Well, fluoroscopy revealed yet another problem. Sacral Joint Disfunction with Fractures. Well, just another thing to add to the list. I thought it was simple sciatica causing this pain but my feet are getting tingly and the left is especially numb. So, CT Scan and the Fluoroscopy revealed the problem!! Hot compresses and TENS Unit is barely touching the pain but I'll get used to it. I hope everyone else is doing well. I've only gotten ONE hour of sleep the last 5 nights so that is why I have not been as vocal as I normally am. I couldn't even think!!!
Marsemouse, I haven't forgotten about your Blue Cross Issue. I'll be checking further into it this week and stopping by my old office to get with some higher ups at Blue Cross that can direct me. Hang tough, I'm working on it.
Everyone else, as always, you're all in my prayers and I hope you have a peaceful night and have a light pain load. Sweet dreams and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow. 💕🙏🏻🌻

Alwayz, oh goodness I am so sorry to hear that! I understand how bad the sciatica can get but to have si joint dysfunction with fractures, my heart goes out to you. Let us know if you need anything. Will be thinking about you!

I like your app particularly the capacity of selecting the area of pain and grading the intensity with colors. I would truly love the option to select what I was doing at the time of pain ex home, work, pushing, lifting climbing, exercising, laying on a particular side of my body etc. I would love also to have the option to enter what makes it worse and better. For example sitting for hours makes it worse and ice makes it better. Thanks for your good job.

My apologies i think I enter the previous comment on the wrong section.

Always, I glad they found the problem but I am also so sorry to hear that it's something that will cause you more pain. I can understand on wanting a DX, all I was ever told by my family doctor was that I had bulging and or hurniated disc's and sciatica. I have a DX of something that I can't spell lol, but the gist of it is that I have all of what I mentioned above accompanied with ostio arthritis and a couple other things. I will be praying for you Always, I know sometimes it's good to have a DX and other times it's to overwhelming when you already have so many. But at least now you know what your dealing with and I pray your pain eases up soon.

Alwayz, you have way more on your plate than anyone should have to deal with. I am truly sorry that yet another issue has been delt to you. My mom has siaatica and sacral joint dysfunction with many multiple old healed fractures, it is miserable. However, she has had great success with a very good chiropractor and physical therapy (most can be done at home with Thera-bands once you learn the exercises). I hope that this option will help you too. You are always a huge asset reaching out to all that post their issues on the board. I, like you try to welcome the new members and offer support but often you beat me to it. You will be in my thoughts, you always are. I hope that you find some relief soon. Sleep is a very elusive little sucker and we all desperately need it to give our body and brain time to heal. Take care and try to do the best with what you can. Even if you cannot sleep try just closing your eyes, turn your brain off, maybe put on some headphones and softly listen to whatever gives you comfort and relax. Usually a dark cool room helps me. I understand the being quiter than normal part, I am Italian and when I am quiet there is a problem. We all are here for you.

AlwayZ, sweet friend I've been missing you. I hate hearing you've got SI dysfunction with fractures. I have SI joint issues but I can't imagine the additional pain you're having. What do they plan to do treatment wise?

We have many new members like LMB said, and I'm trying to greet them but my mind seems off right now. I can't really explain it except to say when I try to respond I'm struggling to find the words and showroom them correctly. Maybe it's stress, I don't know.

With little speedup in five nights you're going to collapse. You take it easy and rest up! You are in my prayers! (((Hugs))) 🙏🌼

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for you words. They are of great comfort to me and I know that you are all here for me.
LMB: thank you!! I try very hard to keep up with new members and to reach out and let folks know that I'm here to listen and help if I can. I thought it was funny when you said I usually beat you to it..LOL!!!
Flappsy, right now, a few days of
Moist heat and gentle stretch in and then maybe some lite PT to help me heal. They are kind of leary of PT because I have such trouble with the rest of my spine, they are afraid that they will aggravate something else. It'll be ok, I'll get through. One foot in front of the other with all my wonderful community friends with me. Thanks for the prayers and hugs. You're a gem.

Mopar, I can understand where you are coming from on wanting a dx. Just finally got a written diagnosis this morning. SI joint dysfunction, sacroilitis and facet joint syndrome along with lumbar sprain. If that isn't a mouthful, I don't know what is. Gees.

You know, I've had SI joints that keep moving abnormally out of place, popping out sticking & pinching. I wonder if it's the same thing?

The last doc i saw before my current one wanted to fuse the SI joints. Anyone ever had this done? Did it help out just aggravate the situation? 🙏🌼

Flappys, from what I can tell is yes basically same thing. They are not going to do anything surgically at all cause there is nothing that can be fixed, except if the L4-5 decides to herniate out. They are hoping to extend out the time between injections with chiro to see if that will help with ROM I guess. Sorry, can't be of more help with it.

My pain doc not Ortho doc wasn't me seeing a chiropractor, but I think I'm going to after Mayo is done. 🙏🌼
