Does anyone experience considerable relief from fibro in the warmer weather? I don't want to jinx myself but since it has hit the 80s I am feeling like a new person. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
flappyslady, sorry about your foot and knee pain. I will keep you in my prayers. This past winter was my most painful ugly reality that I have ever experienced as far as fibro goes. So when I finally got this relief I was thinking that maybe I was misdiagnosed. But I kept a journal of lots of my my sleepless , painful nights (especially) and guess I should just enjoy the blessing of being relativly pain free for the moment. Hopefully we can all experience a little relief here.
I suffered for years, starting appx 2008-2009 but wasn't diagnosed until 2012. Because I also have chronic spine issues & osteoarthritis, it took my PCP time to make the decision. Having recently been diagnosed with Sjogrens, it's more difficult for me to determine what is causing the current flare up (arthritis, fibro, sjogrens, spine, etc). I had no idea sjogrens could cause anything but dry eyes nose, & mouth. The day my rheumy doc meet with me to discuss it I found out a lot. As for my fibro, I've learned not to overdo my activities when I'm feeling good, otherwise I'll pay dearly with increased symptoms when it flares up again. I had to stop taking my gabapentin due to undiagnosed tremors they suspect are MS related or some other neurological issue. I had only been on it two months and didn't think it was helping all that much. But since stopping the neuropathies and muscle pain is worse. Everyone one this site has given great suggestions for coping mechanisms.
It's ironic that you mentioned the weather issue. My sister was diagnosed last year and she was recently telling me summer is worse on her. I realized last year that it's the over 90s days that do the same to me. I've been enjoying this SE weather of late. Although we could use some of the rain from Texas... Everybody from TX blow it to central & East GA! 😉 I hope you have a long reprieve from your fibro; enjoy it but don't overdo. Have a great day!!! 🙏🌼
Blessed I believe that with the warmer weather and lower Barometric conditions it makes mine better also. But living in Texas for the last couple of months has not been easy. My Fibro, Syringomyelia, and Osteoarthritis are really giving me fits. Thursday morning I got up and the sun was shining no rain ya!!! So I got in my garden to pick green beans, I over did it !!! Big time I think I almost had heat exhausten. I got in the house threw up 3 times, had a headache, felt horrible. Later on around 7:00pm I had to go to the ER. Had a fever 101.3,white count was 1100, sore throat which I have been fighting for the last two weeks. Long story short I'm taking antibiotics for 7 days. So be careful and don't over do it . Flappsy I wish I could send you some from my yard, I heard from somewhere they say we have two more months of rain to look forward too. I don't know where it is going to go. We are having so many roads washing out completely all the way across. My poor garden I don't know if I am going to get any thing out of it. My Dr said that East Texas was just slide off the map down to Galveston so there would only be south east Texas any more lol.
Thank you Blessed. I'm glad to help anyway possible. Is overwhelming trying to grasp everything with the fibro, and now thyroid & sjogrens too. I like when others share input so i try to do the same. Hope & pray you have a long break room the fibro! 🌺
Weezie, I hate you turned sick. You take care of yourself. It's so easy for us to overdo it when we feel good. My dad (84) got his tractor fixed and he's been planting a garden, the first he been able to do in 2-3 years. I hope and pray it does well, for you (& dad). I know how hard it is to work one a and then they don't produce because of weather. Praying for the rain to let up there and spread west and east, in moderation of course. Maybe the rain is filling up the underground chambers of water table. That would be a blessing! Get better soon!🌷
I remember when we had our big centennial flood! It kept central GA in a mess for two months just recovering & rebuilding roads. My husband works as a police officer then and it took 2 days just to find a safe route for officers to make it in and replace those who'd been on duty 48 hours! All the PD & FD spent the next month handing out bottled water & there was almost zero crime. It's amazing how a crisis pulls everyone together. Sadly crops were lost from here to the FL-GA border. A hurricane came in and circle's back around itself, right over us! I heard again this mornings weather forecasted El Nino's going to finally provide rain to California, all the way to GA, that's it's going to be a rainy winter. We all need rain on both coasts. But I know what cold rain does to my joints, do I don't look forward to that! 😷
I'm unfortunately white awake right now. 😩 But I'm getting use to it; waking up to take meds and can't go back to sleep. At least I slept well until 4:30! I hope both of you have a good weeken & everyone else too! 🙏🌼
Weezie, I hope we can enjoy the warm weather and the relief that we get from it. I try hard not to think about when fall hits...I really try hard but it creeps in my mind from time to time...fall means cooler temps and pain for me. But hey, its not here yet. Its 85 today! Hope you get some much needed relief in Texas. I lived there about 15 years ago, so seeing all the devastation is unreal. Hope you are feeling better! No more over doing it now! Enjoy the beans. I love em too!
