Pain under control.

Mar 03, 2015 5:46 PM

Ptl. Got the back pain down to a bear minimum right now. It's been about a 6/7 all day. Been taking my big guns but that didn't touch. Finally, just when I thought everything was exhausted, I rediscovered my old friend, prescription ibuprofen(800 mg). Pain is a 1/2 right now. Going to take a Vistaril and go to bed. I'm absolutely spent right now.

Ptl for sure Amanda! That's really great. I'm sitting here with my legs up, tingling and stinging, from a 2 min brisk walk no less. I thought I'd test the waters before my lung test Friday... Lol if this any sign, not gonna last long. I just thought about taking my gabapentin early to see if it helps my legs. You keep resting tonight and don't overdo it tomorrow. 🌼

I will try to be more on top of my pain tomorrow. Today was just ugly to say the least.

I am so glad Amanda that you have had a better day today hopefully tomorrow will be even better. Flappsy I hate to here you are tingling and stinging after your walk. I know you are dreading the FTP tomorrow my husband hates taking them. I hope you can have a good night and get some rest hopefully pain free as much as possible. Talk to your Dr.about increasing you gabapentin, I take 600 MG 4 x a day for my nerve pain and about adding Savella I take 50 MG 2 x a day. It's for nerve pain treating the lower nerves. I saw a specialist in Houston and he told me I needed treatment not onlyfor the nerves in my upper body but lower as well. Belive me it has made a difference in my life. It makes it bearable and if I run out not b have money to get it filled because my good Ole insurance doesn't want to pay for it I pay 64.00 a month for it and in the doughnut hole I pay 98.00. The medicine they will pay for is Lyrica but that's like taking Tylenol I had to for 3 months about 2 yrs ago . I told my primary that it wasn't working as well as the Savella did, so he went to bat for me and they agreed to let me have it. Every year we have to reapply to get it, I'm so afraid they're going to refuse to let me have it every year.Thank God so far they haven't,I can hardly get out of bed without it,the pain in my lower back and legs is so bad. Maybe it would help you too.any way good luck tomorrow be thinking about y'all God bless everyone have a good night !!!

Thanks weezie12, I'll keep the meds in mind. I've been getting chest pain & shortness of breath while walking distances, since last July but it suddenly worsened in December. They did the cardio workup & found a mild mitral regurgitation and low- regular ejection fraction of the left side of my heart. I asked the doc to explain it and he said my hearts is at the lowest normal rate at pumping oxygenated blood into my body. They're treating the chest pain as angina. I've made it through Walmart twice this week, after they changed my inhaler to include a steroid. It will be interesting to have the lung test Friday, but I told my husband to be on standby in case I don't do well.
