Painsomnia ?

Apr 10, 2017 12:23 AM

Dear Sleep, why do you hate me when I so wish to be in a monogamous relationship with you ?

Local time is 12 something, just getting settled in to bed can't exactly sleep because my pain levels are too high and I refuse to take my meds because I don't want to oversleep And wake up drained ....

Question:

ever have pain so severe clothes themselves begin to feel like too much pressure ? Pain ever get so bad that your phone feels too heavy in your hands and your arms get weak ? Or like your joints are so stiff that you'd consider sacrificing the limb they are attached too ? *deep sighhh*

Hey Fibro goddess, yes to all, unfortunately. Hope things swing away from the levels you are at right now.

What do you do to keep pain levels low ?

Apr 10, 2017 4:16 PM

You know, if you make me laugh, I'm going to pee!

I don't really have "low" pain levels.

I love the letter cannot wait for painsomnia to reply. I have a live hate relationship with painsomnia aswell.

I recently purchased a Quell. Wearing it at night had doubled the hours I can sleep. I have fibro, post herpetic neuralgia, reactive arthritis and Hashimotos. It's expensive and does not work for everyone. It does have a money back guarantee. I still need my gabapentin tizanidine and oxy but I am taking a little less now. I hope you are able to get some good rest. Lack of sleep can really wreck a body.

Hey Fibro Goddess, sorry about the Uber short reply yesterday. I got dry needling for the first time and it was not pleasant. It's supposed to help in a while( weeks, not hours or days)

I wanted to share the pain scale I base my pain ratings here and on my written journal. On this scale, I haven't been below a 6 in more than 5 years. On medication. 😫😢

Ick, that scale looks like crud when posted here. Let me know if you want me to send you one

I can't copy that would you send me one please?

Painsomnia sucks for sure! I've been dealing with it nearly three months. Stress isn't helping.

I try to do anything relaxing before bed, at least an hour. I rub pain ointment into my legs which cause a tremendous amount of night pain. I use melatonin nightly but most nights is not helping.

@ Goobette38, what is Quell?

@flappyslady81 Quell is a wearable tens unit that straps to your calf. You can wear it 24/7. It delivers whole body pain relief. The biggest difference I've noticed is that I'm getting way more sleep now.
