OK, so I have fibromyalgia to start. But earlier today I peeled and cored 20/apples to make applesauce. Now I am trying to sleep but can't because I apparently triggered a flare up in my shoulder and arm from making applesauce! I call that pathetic..
Blessed, I hope you catch a few naps today(but not too much, you want to sleep tonight). I envy you on the applesauce! 😋 I use to do jams, jellies, apple/pear-butters & chutneys, & canned tomatoes & such, but I can't lift the heavy pots & pans anymore. And even if I could my hands cramp up after just 10-15 min of chopping veggies for a stir fry. 😔 I have to settle for store bought, because neither of my kids wanted to do that stuff...too much work! For sure, lol. Anyway, rest your arms & hands today, and enjoy!
I say the same thing. I went to Costco nine days ago all I did was push/lean on the cart. My husband did all lifting and pushed a cart with the heavy stuff. I was down 3 days and am still hurting. I try not to compare to what I did before but...when you can't do anything it is hard. Hope your pain is eased soon.
Flappyslady, you are so sweet. Thanks for your kind words. Would love to share a jar of homemade apple sauce with you! Shammagren, I am sorry you are still hurting from your shopping experience. I am finding that making dinner takes it out of me. Every night I find that I am exhausted and have to take a break and sit. My main pain is not even in my legs! I am just physically tired. This cold is not making our pain any better, either. All I know is that I am so very thankful for my heated house and warm bed. I pray for all those that don't have this luxury...
I understand that!! Sometimes just holding my iPad for too long will make my hands, elbows and shoulders flare up. Since I keep alternating the hand I'm holding it in. I have several books that I asked for that are hardcover and I can't read them because they're heavy and it hurts to hold them. I bet that applesauce is delicious though!!! I'm sorry you're suffering, hang in there. Try not to think of it as pathetic... It is what it is.
Alwayz, I place my iPad on a couple of flat pillows when I am sitting or laying down and have a cover that keeps it upright that way I don't have to hold it. I have similar problems with neck, shoulder, wrist, hand etc. For books, at Barnes & Nobles I found a book 'holder' that helps. There are actually a couple or probably a bunch really out there. Probably on Amazon also. For the counter and table, I covered a couple of sturdy boxes with wrapping paper and use them to elevate the iPad to eye level so I don't have to look down continuously as that triggers my neck pain.
