Oct 31, 2016 9:14 PM

Lol gotobef that's funny....was the roasted pumpkin nice?

Oct 31, 2016 10:44 PM

I like pumpkin. i find carving them a waste of a good pumpkin.

Oct 31, 2016 10:46 PM

I've never tried pumpkin and the ones we carved yesterday haven't had a candle in the so I'm thinking of doing something with them but don't know what

Oct 31, 2016 10:51 PM

Usually once they are gutted they get cut so they fit in a roasting pan. bake covered with a little water at 350 for 45+ minutes until the inside flesh is easily pierced with a fork. Then remove from oven and let cool until you can handle it. then scoop the flesh into a blender and puree it. don't put the skin in. Once pureed you can add it to all sort of recipes. I have been doing pumpkin smoothies for breakfast. pumpkin, vanilla vegan protein, rice beverage, nutmeg and cinnamon. Yumm.

Oct 31, 2016 10:52 PM

Pumpkin pie is popular. Pumpkin bread. Soup. muffins.

Oct 31, 2016 10:57 PM

That sounds delicious. Can you eat it once it's been roasted as it is like a roast potato? ( minus the skin )
I'm thinking of pumpkin soup as well....all easy foods to eat with high pain in my jaw πŸ˜•

Oct 31, 2016 11:03 PM

I've never tried it like a potato or butternut squash but it's a winter squash so I'm guessing you could. Pumpkin is strong flavor, don't know if I'd eat it plain. it's usually paired with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves or allspice.

Oct 31, 2016 11:07 PM

Well I have 2 pumpkins to use up so when I get back from the pain clinic tomorrow I know what I'll be doing.... that is if I don't fall asleep first!!! Lol
