I've had to have the nexplanon implant because each time I had a period I would basically stand and I would have clots poring out, I wasn't just bleeding I could sit down and as long as I didn't move there'd be nothing but when I stood up it would just flood out to the point I would soak and push out a tampax and an extra thick, night time, extra absorbent sanitary towel wouldn't only be filled but my underwear and trousers would be soaked as well! I had horrible cramps and yes my other pains would be worse as well. I became anemic but I couldn't take the iron tablets as they really upset my stomach and caused me diarrhoea....since I've had the implant I haven't bleed, I've spotted a couple of times but no period. I still get the monthly moodiness and I sometimes had cramps, particularly when I've spotted and thinking about it I do become a little more stressed at that time which means more pain but not as much as I used to be in.

Rest, meditation, a hot water bottle or a heat pad, depending on the painkillers I was on I'd take an extra ibuprofen or two, I also take evening primrose oil capsules as it stops me getting as moody (according to my daughter, mum and sisters!). There is no hard or fast solution so you just have to try different things to see what suits you best.

Sending you { { { BIG GENTLE HEALING LOVING HUGS } } } XX

Foggurl, don't dream too much of menopause sweetie.. I'm in menopause and the hot flashes and night sweats and mood swings really suck!! The symptoms also exacerbate my pain because my anxiety is heightened. Be careful what you wish for my dear.. 🤗💕

So I'm not the only one who got horrible hot flashes from gabapentin ? Ugh! My symptoms get way worse the week before my period. I'm getting the Nexplanon implant next week and I hope it helps...

TejanaMojo I have that implant but I got it because my periods were so heavy that I was anemic. I've had it since March and I've not had a period since. I've had the occasional spotting around the time I'd be due a period but I still get the moodiness, back pain and all the other things I would get before and during my periods but there not as bad.
Before they put it in they did explain that my body could react in one of several ways. My periods could stop altogether, I could bleed nonstop, I could spot nonstop or my normal cycle could continue as normal. I hope it helps you xx
