PainNoGain2016, Peripheral neuropathy is so miserable. I have suffered with it for a few years now. Lately it's always there. The burning, numbness and throbbing pain is so miserable. I was on gabapenten for two years. My doctors kept upping my dosage until we realized it just wasn't going to work. I was switched to Aptiom. Still having a lot of trouble, but it is better so far than it was. At least now I can manage going to the grocery without fighting back tears to do it. I've also been on several antidepressants that are supposed to help with nerve pain. I have a prescription of lyrica that's been added to the mix, but I've heard of so many side effects that I'm afraid to fill it. I worked hard to lose 85 lbs and I can't afford, physically to gain that back. Lyrica causes weight gain.😕
Thank you for replying with your insights. My father has also been dealing with it for over 8 years. And is slowly sending him crazy, I can see its torture for anyone who suffers from it. He recently had a morphine pump placed inside that slowly release a daily dosage... It's hasn't work. The only thing that does work is the sleeping tablet.. Stilnox. Sadly he's now addicted to the pills, leaving him in the twilight zone most of the time. As you can see I'm on a mission to find out more about this condition and pass on any positive solutions, and get my dad back and enjoying life again. All the best Rhett
It's a good app. I really like it. I do wish that we could flag certain notes that could be useful when I see my doctors. Quick lookups. I think it's wonderful that you are doing this for your dad. God bless!
I've tried a lot to deal with my neuropathy. The biggest things that help are Hot Hemp (it is menthol + hemp, helps my nerve pain when I had to do something that used my wrists), DMSO (controversial...others will comment for sure), horny goat weed (no relation to marijauna, it helps circulation) and kava kava root. I hope something helps you feel better soon!
