Pharmacy lost my Rx!

Oct 30, 2016 11:43 PM

I'm going through one of the most painful days of recent memory. I was nearly out of one of my pain pills, so I had my son drop off the Rx... A few days later the pharmacy still hasn't called to say they're ready, so I call... They "have no record" of the Rx. I'm now completely without my pain med, and have to make it through until I can convince my pain specialist off the problem... Pain 9/10, and wishing I'd just pass out.

Oh no, that's awful. Would your doctor not be able to write you another script if you explain the situation to them? They can't leave you without it can they?
Is there not something you can have that will juse take the edge off a little or something that can help you sleep for an hour or two?
Sending you { { { GENTLE HEALING HUGS } } } XX

Papabear, I hope they got your pain sorted.. I don't know where you're located but here in NY, you are not given the paper RX for ANYTHING any more.. they are electronically sent and filled to try to help reduce selling of RX drugs. I actually prefer it because I leave the doctors office and I go to the pharmacy and my stuff is waiting for me. Sending well wishes and hope you feel better soon.😊

Alwayz - in most states they do electronic for anything but pain meds. For that you have to have a written prescription. Here in Arkansas and in North Dakota my doctors would write 2-3 prescriptions and my pharmacist would keep them on file for me. Another thing I learned last year is if you are going to be out of town make sure you have enough of your RX because most states won't fill a pain med prescription written in another state.

Papabear - I hope the ER was able to help you and that you are able to get a new prescription. :(

Here in NY. You cannot under ANY circumstances get a paper script for pain medication and walk it to the pharmacy. They send them electronically from the dicker.

That was supposed to say doctor.. LMAO!! I have no idea what a "dicker" is.. (maybe someone I know knows. I'll have to ask her.. πŸ’•πŸ€—i

@Alwayz awesome autocorrect! In Texas they send all scripts electronically. I had an issue for a couple of months because the pharmacy I use could NOT accept any CII electronic scripts. I had to bring them like a regular script on paper. The problem is my doctor got rid of their script pads. I almost had to change pharmacies. Fortunately everything worked out ultimately. As far as having a pharmacist lose a pain medication script, yep happened to me once. The only reason the doctor gave me another script was #1- the pharmacist called and told him that I dropped my scripts off as I receive them. #2- I go to my pain management doctor every other month so I take in two scripts and leave themwith the pharmacy. #3- I also had a random drug test from the doctor before I could pick up the script (punishment?).
#4- I had a 3 year perfect relationship with this doctor. #5- Never tested positive for anything I was not supposed to, never ran out of medication early. Actually did not always ask for refills because I still had medication left. I wish you all the best. Maybe because you went to the hospital they will help you.

LMB, isn't that autocorrect hysterical?? Whatever it was "thinking" it sure was way off the mark.. LOL!! I Have the same relationship with my docs and pharmacy so I don't ever have problems like that either. It's a good thing!! {{Hugs}}πŸ’•πŸ˜Š
