Went to physio this morning for treatment of my ankles where they showed me a new exercise to do. It involves being stood on a step with just your toes while your heels hang off the edge. You then lower yourself sightly so your heels are lower than horizontal and then push back up level or slightly above. This is supposed to help strengthen the muscles to help support the joint. So there i am doing said excersise when with a large crack , my left ankle gives way. I fall forward an stick out my hands to break my fall like everyone does as a natural reaction. Two of my fingers slam straight into the face of one of the steps. So i leave physio this morning with a pulled achilles, a very swollen and bruised foot which is all strapped up & two broken fingers !!!! And they say physio does you good !
That is something I've done all my life horseback riding. Heals down, drop your weight into your heels and relax your lower back and seat. I can no longer do the step thing but somehow I inow, I'll always be able to ride!🌻🙏🏻😊
Oh Yanbo, how awful! I'm so sorry this didn't help! I'm no therapist, but isn't that somewhat of a middle of the treatment exercise? I'm just doing your rises & calf stretches to strengthen my calves and feet. I oppose you won't be hurting too badly tonight. (((Hugs))) & prayers for a quick healing. 🙏🌼
