Moved to a new area and now have to find a new dr. Well people told me about this clinic call Posier clinic called and was told the didn't take state insurance only if it was dean care. The insurance I was given I had to travel 50 min to a clinic so I changed to state dean care because people kept recommending them. Called made appt asked what I would be seeing the dr. For, gave my diagnoses .asked what meds I was on and told paperwork would be in the mail content hung up. 15min. later the clinics nurse called and said that it would be better off to find a different dr. Because dr.sam Posier doesn't prescribe narcotics mind you I only take 5/325 hydrocodone 3 daily granted it barely touches my pain. I never said anything regarding increase or decrease on the phone when making my appt. I just gave them the list that they had asked me over the phone. And as you know this up set me and my pain went up let's just add stress to a fibromyalgia patients before they even get to there appt. Now wondering if I should even go to this clinic now?

I don't understand Dr now days I to just went to new Dr regarding female issues that my Dr doesn't do and I got the third degree from the Dr himself. He kept asking why I picked him instead of local Dr. It only took me 40 min from home and only 10 min from town I shop at regularly. I told him my history and that I was only there for a pelvic exam therefore I wasn't inquiring about my pain problem. Afterwards he again informed me this was something my Dr could've done and I told him AGAIN that my Dr may be trained to do it but he chooses not to. I will not be going back. What's their problem. I have good Ins and wasn't seeking pain meds

Sorry to hear that you went through the same thing. I feel that the dr. Today don't even want to be doctors. I was sent to an oncologist because they found my upper torso was full of lemphoma and the doctor stated that he had a clue why I was in pain because the byopse came back neg.for cancer I got excited thinking finally then he said it was a matter of a blood test then he ask me about my sexual history. When he noticed the question on my face he told me that HIV or syphilis can cause body pain and it is a mater of proper diagnosis. I sat shocked and said I was never a Loose goose even when I was young and if one of these were the cause wouldn't the carpal tunnel surgery, the dog bite,or the byopse have revealed this since the hospital is always testing. He didn't answer me he just said this was the answer. I took the blood test and left laughing. Went back for the follow up as the doctor sat a little humble he stated the test came back negative no diseases of that type in my system. Not only could he not explain why my lymph nodes were enlarge and in clusters and why I had pain then said don't bother to make a follow-up and Wales out of the room

I would definitely not go there. I have a great Dr. I drive an hour each way to see my Dr. Sometimes its worth it.

Do not go to that clinic. You'll just get more frustrated than you are already now. I've been there. But worse, they didn't tell me all this so i sent to the clinic and wasted time and energy and was insulted more than once while i was at the clinic. The buses forest words were "we don't prescribe narcotics," in the most snooty voice. I was so appalled.

Keep calling around. I hope your can find someone to help. Sometimes your hand to do to out on a limb and squirrel away some medicine to get you through until you can find the right doctor.

Please let us know how it goes. Thinking of you because i know how hard this is

Oh and also doctors are afraid to Pipestone narcotics on a regular basis because the DEA is cracking down hard. My gyno can't even treat my adenomysis on a regular basis anymore because now the DEA is requiring any doctor who regularly prescribe narcotics to become a pain clinic. It's so frustrating for us legitimate pain patients! In so many ways!

Excuse all my misspellings having a rough morning. No sleep will do that

That is just so wrong ! What was it his business as to way you would drive to see him/her. What did getting a pelvic have to do with her pain meds. But our wonderful government is to thank for that. They have to write in triplicate . My Dr told me him and his brother had to go out and order a large box of triplicate prescription pads to where they might only order a 1/4 of that before. The government has yet made any an ounce mental as to how much it is helping against getting them off the street. To where in actuality it hasn't made any difference at all. Only punish us law abiding citizens that need them to be able to function .

Kitty & wezzie you are both correct. Our government has taken practicing medicine out of doctors hands and placed it into political arenas. All I can say is look at how our elected officials vote and make sure you all vote to protect what matters to you. This gas been going on a very long time and is not anything new. They just keep chipping away our rights. Another reason to be able to do things for yourself. Vote. Did you all know that the judges for disability hearings are not elected officials? They are permanent employees-I find that a problem. Just like being able to obtain my prescribed medication-problematic at best. If you go to the DEA website there are tons of really old medication that cardiac patients can not get any longer. Why? Apparently the new and much more expensive medication is better? Better for whom? I feel your frustration.

I fell your frustration...I work in a doctors office, and I too take meds for my pain. I have never once had an issue providing a urine sample to show I take my meds as directed. It is frustrating when offices judge you before they even know you. I understand that doctors have to be careful but when did careful and ride become the same thing?

My PCP told me yesterday to start tapering off some of my meds and vitamins.. After printing my med list he numbered them 1-12, told me to wait 2wks before eliminating another one. When I asked why I should eliminate meds & vitamins he prescribed, he responded that I was on more than I should be. Then he added that vitamins were given a lot of hoopla when in reality they are making us sicker. What!?!? 😱

I told my hubby I think he's either the doc has lost his mind in the last 2-3 years, or he's afraid to doctor anymore. If they make a mistake patients will sure them. If they disregard the govt telling them how to doctor they get penalized. My hubby also asked if I had noticed that every time my doc spoke he would turn to my hubby. I told him that yes I noticed, and was trying to figure out if he thought me incompetent or if he'd also become sexist in his older age. I will be so glad when I can find a new one, but my Atty said stick with him until the SSD is over, since he knows me and doctors me 25+ years. *sigh* 😞.

It's horrible to think where we'll be 10-15 years from now. Maybe I'll be too loud to care! Lol 🙏🌼
