Jul 28, 2016 5:18 PM

Hi. New to this app! Any suggestions how to treat possible carpul tunnel while I await my hospital referral? Driving me crazy..

Wear a splint, if not already, they're totally affordable, I've had carpal tunnel release surgery in both wrists before my spinal cord injury, depending how long you've had it and how severe it is,in my experience, unfortunately it's about putting up with it,as often there is nothing you can do for relief until surgery, just depends how severe it is.

Thank you for your help. I ride a motorbike / scooter and now hurts like hell after 5 mins and have to pull over. Awaiting hospital referral. Hope you're OK.

Hello 🌷hugs i hope u find some relief soon hunni 🤗

I also wear a splint when the pain in my wrists and hands becomes to much. I bought it on Ebay for under £5 (from china i believe)

Its my savior at times and it still allows me ✌ to stick 2 fingers up at the same time!! Lol 🐴

I wore splints and still do, much like Lulabels's. I've had surgery on the right, but still need a brace after over use. Good luck!! Hugs love & prayers too! 🙂💕🙏🌸

My doctors thought I had carpal tunnel but it turned out I didn't. Cortisone injections and Lyrica are supposed to help but it had no effect on me. At the end it turned out that I don't have CTS but myofascial triggerpoints. I will post a link where you can find pain patterns of different trigger points.

Do you feel a tingling sensation in your fingers? That would be typical for CTS.

Besbi11, I have carpal tunnel in both wrists. I tried sleeping with my splints at first and that didn't work out. I was raped, so I don't like feeling bound at night. I wore them diligently during the day along with hand therapy and it worked out really well. I would ask your neurologist about what the EMG shows to know the extent of damage.

Leelee, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I understand how you feel as it happened to me at the age of 22. I can't deal with someone holding me down (even if it's just playing). I have carpal tunnel and I wear the splints when I need to. I also have an issue either the joint in my thumb at the base that had to be rebuilt as the tendons tore from the bone when I fell once. I was in a cast for almost a year and they finally operated. I have a special thumb splint that actually also helps my wrist pain. Sometimes better than the splints made for the carpal tunnel. Gentle {{{Hugs}}} sweetie. I hope you find some relief.
Lulabel, my wonderful inked friend!! You are so kindhearted. I tried to post on a thread where a young lady named Coral introduced herself and you sent a pic as well.. You look awesome and for some reason, I can't get down to the reply box on some thread with photos. I saw the pics of your daughter's sugar gliders and how adorable they are!!! I love bearded dragons.. Had them myself for a bit. They're cool. Your daughter looks like you!! Cheers!💕

Leelee, you are so strong! Thanks for sharing with us your pain. I have worn braces for carpal tunnel foray least 25 years. I have such awful pain without them. Took a while I remember to get accustomed to them, but now they are like old soft friends! Did have surgery. It was marginally successful, then the pain has slowly come back. 🌹
