I thought I would have web searches for new devices and pain relief tools and drugs to report on here. I just came across this neat piece of news on Drugs.com. It is about a drug that is trying to pass the FDA. It looks very promising for relief of pain immediately after surgery. It is called Zalviso. Unlike having to be hooked to a pump feeding you morphine that doesn't give much relief. It hasn't really helped me. Actually that reminds me of a funny story. Anyone who wants to share a I.V morphine story, go ahead. But I had just had my accident. My foot had been most of the way tore off except some skin and a vein. I was lucky. They were able to save my foot. But they wanted to keep it opened a few days to let it drain any bad stuff out. I landed in a dirty place. But in the middle of the night, that morphine made me hallucinate and I thought my wrapped leg and foot were gift wrapped. It just had gauze and bandages. But I got it in my mind to unwrap it and open my present. Man that stuff can make you crazy. But if this stuff gets on the market. It is suppose to have a quicker relief of pain and a much better relief. Instead of being hooked up to a PCA device which could get loose or cause an infection, these are time released sublingual micro tablets. I just thought that could be good news for us who need constant surgeries.
