Proactive or reactive doctor

So I've been thinking about my pain and symptoms a lot lately, mostly because I've been suffering a lot. I was wondering how often on average does your doctor so lab work? Especially if there is somw confusion or midline on diagnosis. I've seen my rheumatologist twice now bout six months and he's not taken any lavs since my first appointment nor expressed any concerns about my possible Lupus . I've have a few overlapping diagnosis and symptoms. And this rash on my face is becoming very distracting. To the point my pcp is sending me to a dermatologist.
Is it possible for me to ask for blood work or do I just need to chill out. ?

You can ask for bloodwork. I don't get any done unless i ask or its my full physical and they only do basics on the physical.

Newfibrogirl, I have lab work twice a year as I take so much medication that there is a danger of liver damage. Otherwise, only if I am having new symptoms. I would think they would check you fairly often with lupus?
