Psoriatic Flare

Mar 22, 2018 1:21 AM

Does anyone have this problem? I have Psoriatic Arthritis and when I have a flare which is now my Psoriasis can also flare. With that I have Psoriasis of the groin. My skin on my groin will become severely itchy and will slough off. I have a steroid ointment but it causes your labia to thin in time. It’s bad enough to endure an arthritic flare but it really gets me down. This cycle with my groin is every 48 hours. It peels bleeds and its painful to urinate. Just venting out of frustration. Anyone have this problem? Help!

Oh also doctors think it might also be due to my incontinence caused by my spinal stenosis etc

No I never heard of that before! I have Osteoarthritis and it seems I always have pain and it is getting harder to control! I hope you feel better! I don't think it is from stenosis!

The incontenence is from my spinal stenosis. They think I’m getting a contact dermatitis from the urine.(?)

I have a similar issue that I've also been told is due to my incontinence due to spinal stenosis. Because I leak urine I've been told that it's irritating my groin area. It gets itchy I scratch bleed, and skin comes off. It gets better and worse every few days. My doc attributes it to my incontinence. I hate it and it makes me feel disgusting.

What do you for it? I feel like a animal who’s foot isn’t n a trap and the only relief is to scratch the dry scaling skin off. Then it burns like 🔥for the next day and is very tender to sit not to even mention sex which is totally out of the question. I agree with you. It’s embarrassing and makes me feel awful, thank you for responding, I know and feel for your pain😢🤗😘

I am sitting here crying Triquetrahope because I’m relieved to know someone else understands my anguish. I wish neither of us had to go thru this. It’s bad enough with the spinal issues we both have. I have AS, DDD , Psoriatic Arthritis, Peripheral Neuropathy, Spinal Stenosis etc to name some of the problems I face daily. It’s bad enough to face what we have then to have to endure this also. Thank you so much for coming out. I know it must of been difficult to write as I was embarrassed writing about it myself. What do you do to ease the pain and itching? I have steroid cream but when I’m having the pain I sleep with an ice pack ( only mine) between my legs to dull the nerve pain. If you ever hear of any new RX please feel free to contact me. I will do the same.🌹
