PT Away & Home

May 09, 2016 9:32 AM

I had PT on my neck & shoulders today. Omg at the knots they tried to massage out of my right scapulae area! At one point a different tech said he thought my tech was going to make me pass out! I guess the pain & nausea was showing on my face. Lol. 😲. The e-still afterwards was so awesome I nearly fell asleep. 😴

My hubby bought me a chair gym to do the seated exercises at home that I've learned in PT and OT this year. My grandchildren made it look so easy, demonstrating their very capable strengths at ages 9 & 10. 💪 It's a lot tougher than I thought it would be, or else I must be showing my age and debilities worse than I ever imagined! 😰

Does anyone have suggestions on how to keep these muscle knots from forming? If anyone is interested in the chair gym, mine came from Amazon. But you can go to their website too. Wishing everyone a good day & week! 🙂💕🙏🌼

I rubbed on voltaren gel before bedtime and the neck & shoulders are a little better this am. Planning to work my chair gym after lunch... will send if it's triggering knot formations. These are the same exercises they have me doing at PT.

Hi FlappysLady81 That gym chair sounds like quite a workout. Well done for doing that 👍 Now about the knots. My dr and Physio all bang on about posture, symmetry movement and pacing in my case. When my muscles are over working to protect sore spots or have weakness I get the most painful knots. I try to avoid them by being careful with posture, movement and doing exercises correctly. Does it work? Not really I'm a slow learner I don't listen to my body enough and stop before I hit the wall pain wise. Acupuncture has been a blessing far less painful than massage, more immediate relief and is quick procedure.

Dipbop, the posture is something PT is working on with me. I'm already developing a dowager's hump! Lol I wonder if these knots have to do with fibromyalgia tender points? It's definitely very close, and I think why it is so painful during massages. The e-stim works wonderfully though. My insurance won't cover acupuncture, and I don't think I could stand it ...I hate needles! Lol. But thanks for the suggestion. Have a blessed day! 🙂💕🙏🌼

Hey Flappsy!! I wish I had the answer for you to keep those knots from forming under your scapula. I have the same thing!! My doc had me do physio and it really was hard when they pressed on the knots and tried to get them out after heat and stim. I would leave there and the next day have bruises where they pressed so hard and deep to try and get them out. The only thing for me that loosens them is heat, stim and muscle relaxants. Hang in there!! Sending love, gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you feel better.💕🙏🏻🌻😊

That's what they're doing to me now AlwayZ. I told him I could see him as a torture chamber... He laughed! 😲
