Quad/Para-Sport or sporting activities

Feb 15, 2016 5:14 PM

Just wondering if anyone takes part in any exercise, sporting activity?(as and when pain allows) I've just started swimming.......well floating on my back with a flotation belt and head rest, I can move my arms ok so am able to use my hands with the help of hand fins and my Carer keeping me level floating. It's that little bit of escapism for me twice a week. Then we have a Hand and foot cycle in our gym that I can use, I get my hands strapped in and use my arms to propel my legs. Much like the type of equipment they had in spinal rehab but without the muscle stim.

That's good Jahmac. I want to do pool therapy but I'm afraid of the water temp causing pain. The last pool I got in literally locked my muscles & joints in pain because it was too cold. 😉 Enjoy your escape time! 🙂💕🙏🌼

Have you tried a hydrotherapy pool flappsy ? They heat them to around 34-36 Celsius (US folk 93-96.8F)

No I haven't. My insurance won't pay for any pool therapy. If have to join a gym that has one, which were have several with professional PT/OT's, but I can't afford it right now. I love floating in my back. My dad & I are the only ones who could do this. Lol. I hope you enjoy today with little pain as possible! 🙂🙏💕🌼
