Question...

Jan 27, 2016 9:12 AM

I've had this cold and allergies since Christmas. I've gotten some better. But both I and my hubby have noticed that with any activity over 10-15 minutes and I'm breathing hard. I can inhale deeply & exhale deeply. But after exertion it's harder for me. I know I'm due for a pulmonary check, on the nodule they found in 2014.

Is this asthma related or should I go see my pulmonologist? My hubby is scared it's my heart, because of the vascular problems I developed over the past year, including changes in the heart. I'm trying to stay calm and let it slide, because it really doesn't feel like asthma. But my peak flow meter says I'm in the yellow. I used my emergency inhaler but didn't change anything.

Well. If there is any chance it could be your heart is say vet it checked.. If ur not wheezing its probably not asthma. So I would say go get a full! Work up just to be safe. And maybe be easy on your activities til u find out ..be careful..

Flappsy, if you're uncertain then I would go and see the doctor. Better safe than sorry. I have been sick since November 15 and still can't get better. I've been through a round and a half of antibiotics which is a catch 22 because they destroy all the good bacteria too. I have a horrible cold and an ear infection and today feel like my Costochondritis is acting up. I'm also worn out after little activity and my chest feels heavy. However I'm getting over pneumonia. Please get checked out, Flappsy. I don't want to hear that anything bad happened to my twin!!! {{{{Hugs}}}} πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ˜

I used my emergency inhaler over 2 hours ago. I it back from the MRI and redid my spirometer, and its come up. But I noticed when I breathe out it's 1 1/2 times longer than when I breathe in. I think I'll call my doc and see if they can get me in sooner. Thanks!

Flappys, from personal experience, if your going into yellow, then more then likely it's your asthma acting up. Please go get checked out.

Did they do a cat scan if your nodule. Do they have any idea what's causing it?whay size is it and where is it located?

Amanda, I out sidetracked waiting for their lunch break to be over, so I have to call tomorrow. My breathings stayed in the green since I used the albuterol inhaler. But I still get short of breath with activity. We went out to eat supper and when we got home I changed to my pj's. By the time I increased and redressed I was breathing hard and unable to talk.

Donamel, they found a nodule, small one in my left lung. We repeated a CT scan in October and it has not changed, nor were there any others. But a few months after the lung nodules showed up they found one in my breast on a mammogram. They put me through mammograms every 6 months 3x, and again no changes. Now I have one on my vocal chords, found earlier this month. I'm wondering if all these modules are because of my Sjogrens.

I'm going to call my pulmonologist in the morning. Thanks everyone! πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸŒΌπŸ’•
