Question about MS

Aug 22, 2016 2:02 PM

Hi y'all😍
Hope everyone hanging in there😘 I was wondering how a person gets tested for MS and what some symptoms are that help distinguish it from other disorders, in your personal opinion😊
Thank you 🌼🌹

Unfortunately the test for MS is a lumbar puncture along with a blood test... As for the symptoms I'm not sure.. My friend who has it complains of twitchy uncontrolled movements, numb areas and sensitive skin in areas particularly near the numb areas. She doesn't like to go into it too much. She also can't temperature regulate well.
However she also has a type of arthritis - I'm not sure which - and i dont know which are crossover symptoms and which are just the MS

There is also the MRI of the brain which shows lesions.

The NMSS.org site has details about this disease and it's effects Many symptoms crossover with Fibromyalgia and other disorders, difference being that MS attacks the CMS and destroys brain cells.

Sorry, that's the CNS, central nervous system. I've known people to go go blind, lose the ability to walk, talk, think, remember . . . It can cause severe pain, fatigue, sensitivity to temp changes, and more.
I've been diagnosed for 15 yrs. Any more questions, there are others on this forum who have it, ask away.
