Question on migraines...

Jul 31, 2015 8:18 PM

I have migraines, sinus, and cervicogenic headaches. Today I was watching the news and using my tablet. While looking down I suddenly had a really severe shooting pain in and around my right eyeball, not the eye socket... The eyeball! I looked up at the TV and back down at my tablet and it looked like my tablet had a green tinted shadow all over its page. I reached up to rub my eye and when I pressed the top of the eyeball it hurt, like a fresh bruise does, pressure pain. It hurt for several hours and my eyeball is still sensitive if I press on the top order portion. This doesn't feel like anything I've ever had before. I'm wondering if it can be a pre-migraines aura I've never experienced. Any ideas??? πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Flappsy, I've had that happen to me. Believe it or not, the doctor said it could be a couple of things. One being pre-migraine symptom, it could also have to with sinus pressure (since your sinuses are behind your eyes), it can also be caused by raised pressure in the eyeball itself like glaucoma or uveitis. I would ask the doctor when you see him/her if it happens again. As always, you're in my heart, thoughts and prayers. Be well my FriendπŸ’•πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Thanks AlwayZ. I couldn't think of anything besides a migraine aura, which it is not (no migraine yet at least). I have to make a note of these to ask my doc. I hope you're doing well too! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

That sounds like me when there are burnings going on. My eyeballs hurt, but a migraine does usually show up pretty soon afterwards.

Well if it does make an entrance I'll be interested to see if this happens before the next one.

Flappys, just speaking from personal experience but it could also have been an ocular migraine. Not sure exactly how to describe them, but basically it's like having a migraine in your eye itself,

I'll look into that Amanda. I've never heard of it before but I'm still hurting today just in the right eye. Thanks! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

My migraines happen a lot like that, If I were you I would get it check out by your doctor. Don't end up with a 12 day migraine like I did.. No fun!

Thanks moparmom. I think it was something to do with my sinuses. The eye pain is gone this morning but my sinuses are draining. I'm just glad the eye pain stopped! But i am going to let my doc know. πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Yeah hunny I get random things happen before a migraine and also get migraines with aura just without the actual migraines sometimes!
I have warnings about 2/3 days before a migraine attack, weather it be , spots in my eyes, blurry, piercing/ burning feelings in eye (always left side!), tingling arms face lips ect!
They said it's down to migraines or that's what they told me a few year ago anyways lol.
Hope ur feeling better soon x
