Ray of light ⛅ amidst the storms ⛈

Oct 24, 2016 10:20 AM

I've been absent nearly 2 weeks due to many various stressful things, storms: shoulder still painful & worsens with use; balance issues (on walker); neck pain & headaches increasing; hearing loss with tinnitus due to possible virus attack on nerve; imbalance very bad (on walker); playing referee between daughter (high strung, argumentative-like father like daughter) and hubby over her big dog, who keeps grabbing our dog by the neck and shreds horribly; steroid meds making me not sleep and irritable, on top of hubby being extra irritable from his steroid shot; one daughter jealous because we bought a truck and are selling old used car to the other daughter (who's car motor is gone); sister giving me silent treatment because I was unavailable to talk last week when she wanted to, then I forgot to call her back several hours; my dad who's getting very argumentative as his alzheimers worsens; stepmom who wants me to rehome their other dog now, instead of a month ago with the first dog, which is stressful being 1 1/2 hours away creating multiple difficulties; my memory worsening where I forget a lot causing arguments, bills, to do things, things others tell me, and losing stuff (lost my partial plate yesterday and didn't find it until late evening, in a short pocket...lol); and so on...

The ray of light (hope) came Saturday by a letter from my attorney. I finally have a hearing coming up in December for my disability application. If anyone has suggestions of what to expect or do, please share. I'm truly praying I get approved.

I'm going to start trying to catch up on at least three most recent posts. Sending hugs love and prayers out for everyone to have a good week! 🙂💕🙏🌸

It's no wonder your symptoms are so bad with all that stress!! One thing I would strongly recommend, is including EVERY symptom you've had, even if it is embarrassing. I never had to go to a hearing, but I think doing that was key in my getting disability on the first try. Praying for you.

I will be and am sending my best of prayers for your application for disability approval and I really want this to go through successfully for you it's very important for both you and me because we are in the same boat and that's not a joke and everyone knows what pain is? The answer is NO because nobody understands what pain is and that is the sorry truth. People should know but but it takes pain to understand so I'm praying with all of my heart and soul for the approval for your disability application in Jesus Christ name Amen!!!

Nobody knows pain until you experience it. Stress does make my pain worse. Hope you get some relief.

(((( gentle hugs )))) you sure are walking through the fire these days hun.

I have never been to court but a disability lawyer who specializes in Fibromyalgia and pain disability once said to not spend a lot of time dressing up. Don't dress like a bum but look like you normally would without fussing. For instance don't spend a lot of time fixing your hair or on makeup. I know we don't look sick but if you go in looking like you spent time to look great the judge may think if you could do that then you surely aren't doing as bad as you want them to believe. For my disability I wrote a letter describing what a normal day was for me and describing how hard I worked to get the job I had and how much I loved it. I explained how hard it was to finally admit what my doctors had said - that I couldn't continue to work. They approved me right away. (I had been denied the first time..) not sure if that's something you can do it not.

Best of luck to you not just on the hearing but on the family issues too.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't worn makeup since the 80's, my first allergies. I wear jeans and tips daily, with sneakers for comfort. I hope that will be ok because i don't own dress clothes anymore, not since quitting work and gaining weight. I buy strictly what's needed. I've had 3 doctors fill out forms for my lawyer. I hope they will help. I met with my lawyer to weeks ahead of the court date.

Flappys hunny, if you have to go into court and with your walking issues and balancing issues I don't think that you have anything to worry about. Do you still have to wear that annoying neck brace? With all the issues that you have going on now I think the judge will take one look at you and your case and say you should have been approved along time ago! So sorry your having a rough time, you'll be in my prayers my friend! 😘🙏🌹💖

Sjogrenspain77, I'm not constantly in the brace. But I've had to wear it to sleep comfortably the past few weeks, and I'm wearing it in the vehicles. As bad as it is on bad days, I kind of hope I'll be having a bad day when I go to court. It's that awful or what?! Lol
