Many studies have found a difference in sensitivity to pain between hair colors and also sex. I'm curious how many redheads are in this group. So many fascinating studies about this; I encourage you all to explore the web and reddit!!

Yes, I have also read studies that redheads are more sensitive to pain. I was also taught this in one of my pharmacology classes years ago. I have red brown hair. In the sun you can really see my red. Sucks. Father was a redhead and most of his family is red.

I'm a semi-redhead, it only really shows up in the summer though. I have also noticed a correlation to the multiple layered eyes being more sensitive to light, and pain. My sis has layers, but they're only obvious in the sun. Orange, then red, deep brown, then pupils. My dad and I both have layered blue grey eyes. My closest friend has gold, green, and yellow eyes. Her family has a lot of emotional and historical issues, plus ADHD.

It's true, redheads are more sensitive to pain, and anesthesia. I should know because I am one. (Ok I was one when I was 4, now my hair can't make up it's mind) winter i'm a brunettish, summer strawberry blondish... I do have red in my hair. So I know about redheads and pain....yes it's true, every bit of it.....

Interesting! I'm technically a brunette, dark brown with red highlights (auburn red). My siblings all have brown-black hair, like our parents. They all have waves of curious and mine is bone straight. I've always wanted curly hair. I told my parents their genes were worth out when I came along because I got no curls! Lol. My stepmom was red headed and she was very sensitive to pain and sunlight. She died at 61 from a massive heart attack. My mom was blackish brown but she was over sensitive to pain. She died at 65 from copd/heart failure and kidney failure. I get all my meds allergies and pain senses from her. The more I have done the words I get. My youngest was born with literally orange toned red hair that stuck straight out all over! She's turned to a beautiful chestnut color with redder highlights. She has lots pain threshold. Her sister is strawberry blonde and tolerate a lot, but gets grumpy easily. 🙏🌼
