I have noticed that our family here has been mentioning an increase in stress lately. I know that with the holidays coming up, it's only going to get worse. I thought I would pass along what I do when I get back overly stressed. I bought a few of those coloring books for adults at hobby lobby. One is flowers the other is botanical wonders. I have a paisley art one too. All you need is a box of colored pencils. I color and listen to music and it calms me down. I don't worry about what colors to use, it's just for me. I let my imagination loose. I also crochet while I'm watching my TV shows at 7 & 8 pm. This is the way I wind down at night. I wish you all a very pleasant and less stressful night.
They have them online. I am don't have a tablet, and so I do it the old fashioned way. I use colored pencils, pastels, and markers, so online wouldn't be a good fit for me. But I think it is a good idea 💡 for those of you who like to do things on a tablet.
Cearea, I found an app in the iTunes App Store and got it. It was (is) free and you can purchase additional books and there are many, many color combinations to use. You can color the same picture over and over u till you get the colors you want to make it look the best and you can also save them to your photo roll as well as print them out on photo paper to frame them. It is a great distraction because the designs are so intricate that you need to concentrate and it takes your mind off of whatever else is going on. A nice thing to do if you are coloring is to also use some great music!! The combination is soothing. I can only do it if my pain level hasn't gone too far over the top. When that happens, the only things that will distract me are being on the phone with my best friend and/or going to her farm and being around the horses. If the pain levels are manageable then I can actually hold a brush and do some grooming. That will take me to a place of such peace that nothing else exists. 🌻🙏🏻
I have an android phone and a Windows computer when I get it out of the pawn shop. I much prefer the paper kind though. It's like reading a book, there is nothing like holding one in your hand, although I do have kindle on my phone.
