Restless Legs

Apr 19, 2017 4:05 PM

The last month my RLS has really been acting up and keeping me from sleeping. Was wondering what everyone else takes or does for their RLS.

Magnesium and potassium supplements help some. I'm on pain, nerve, and muscle meds and that helps some too. Sometimes if it's really bad I move my legs like I'm running in bed or flex my calf muscles a bunch until I tire my legs out. It's so annoying especially if you are tired 😴

Restless legs tonight here too, so far had oxycodone, gabapentin and oxynorm but nothing helping tonight. Plus insomnia, so exhausted tho x

As Goobette said magnesium and potassium supplements. They don't work instantly, they take a few weeks to get into your system.
For me it took about 3 or 4 weeks before I noticed any difference, I've found that the muscle twitches are not as severe and they don't twitch as much. Unfortunately they don't stop restless legs completely but they do help make it less severe.

I hope you find something that will help you. Sending you positive vibes and warm healing hugs xx

I take magnesium already but I will try adding potassium and see if that helps.

Magnesium topically works a little better I think. Epsom salts bath is magnesium & your whole body can soak it up. I use topical oil I spray on after shower.

I don't have restless legs but my legs cramp in the night. I use magnesium and that helps a little. The topical spray as Tamtoad said, I believe topical is better. I used to work in a GNC and there is a product called Hylands Leg Cramps or Restless Legs that has quinine that many people swore by. Really cheap too, like $7. Didn't work for me but may work for your circumstances.

Magnesium seems to help a lot for me. Sometimes I don't think it's doing that much, but when I stop my calves and feet get much worse. I take 150mg morning and night, but what dose do other people take and what amount of potassium?

I know it sounds crazy but put a bar of soap any old bar will do at foot of your bed under your sheets. It stops RLS. Since I've done this, I've not had a problem with it and that's been about 5 years.
