Rheumatologist was a bust.

Dec 01, 2015 8:12 AM

As the subject line states, the rheumatologist could not diagnose me or find anything wrong that has to do with her field. No joint inflammation, no redness. She did send some labs to Mayo to test for any connective tissue diseases but she said she is very doubtful ant of them will turn up positive. We didn't run another ANA because I've taken 2 already and both have been negative. The only thing she really did was prescribe me new meds to help relieve some of my depression and to help settle nerve pains and help me sleep at night. I don't recall the name of the med, but so far it has made me incredibly nauseous and a little disoriented. Feels like a hangover honestly.

tmiller, in what context and intention are you opening this new topic?

Follow up on what happened at my appointment.

Tmiller, I'm sorry you didn't get any definite dx. Hopefully the land from Mayo will show something. What meds did she give you to take? As hard as it is, try not to get too frustrated. We've all been at the door of the unknown at some time or another. Mine was this and last year. Keeping you in my prayers. πŸ™πŸŒΌ

@ Tmiller, hi, I'm so sorry to hear that things didn't go as you had hoped today. I know how frustrating it's got to be for you. I will be praying for you and praying that something will come back in your results explaining what is going on and is able to give you some answers. It's so hard feeling the way you do and not knowing what the cause or causes are. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted.

In what context and intention was the context and intention of this thread questioned?

I love you marsemouse πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‡

I went to see my rheumatology doctor today she is so nice and concern about her patients she gave me a book on Essential Arthritis Cookbook Kitchen Basics for people with Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain and fatigue I really needed the book thank you Jesus for my doctor giving it to me.

Dr. F, if you are wondering why marsemouse questioned you it is this: Do you ever wonder why ppl use so many Emoji's? It is because on the Internet it is sometimes difficult to read intention in a persons typed words. Are they being sarcastic or serious? Should I lol or not?

In the real world, even though we can read body and facial language, we can still get the meaning of a given statement wrong.

What I am trying to say, is that the question you posed in the beginning of this thread sounded, to me, rather hostile. It sounded as if you were telling tmiller that he had done something wrong.

I'm sure that most of us know that that was not your intent, but I would just advise you to try to think of a more pleasant way to ask your question. A person who is depressed or anxious might be turned away from this app if they feel hostility, especially from someone that sounds official.
